hi there folks

hope some of you may be able to shed some light.

My Fiance has already applied for an I-29. He is American, i am British, and we are both in the UK for now. We have decided that we want to get married sooner as opposed to getting to the US first. We actually plan to fly to Canada and get married there in April.

I'm a little confused about what process we take now (the waiting doesn't bother us, we would just like to get married) i read on someone elses thread we must cancel the Fiancee petition first, but how do we do this?

there is so much information here, it does get a little overwhelming, i would just like to know which section i should start looking into.

thanks so much

ash

Simply send a letter , notarized is best, to USCIS that you wish to cancel your fiance visa petition as you have married and no longer qualify as fiances. The start all over after the wedding with a CR1

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

CR-1 is definitely the visa you would want. K-3 is pretty much obsolete.

What stage are you at with the K-1 petition? If it has been approved then you need to send a signed and dated request to the NVC and the Embassy if it is already in their hands.

I am moving your thread from the K-3 Process forum to General Immigration Discussion.
