I am starting the I130 process as I got married last month in the Philippines. We are filling out the g325a and at the end of her form it asks for the applicant name and an a #. Would this be my name as the applicant of the I130 or hers? She filled her name in with a chaged family name (mine) and her maiden name as other name.

Will we need to submit a copy of her birth certificate and or a copy of her passport? If yes to the passport she hasn't changed it to my name yet.

My brain is ready to explode!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

I didn't change my name in my passport until just before the interview and I didn't have any issues.

When you fill out the g-325A then you fill your info (your name and a# - listing none if you don't have one) and when she fills out the g-325A then she fills out her info (her name and a# - listing none if there is none)

Yes, you will have to submit the passport bio page and the birth cert. of your wife. Read the guides

Good luck

^^ I did the same - submitted the I-130 in my married name then proceeded to change my ID. The copy of the beneficiary's passport will not be required until the NVC stage so you should have plenty of time to get that done. Good luck.

Beneficiary birth certificates and passport data pages are required at the NVC stage, not at the petition stage. One completed G325a for petitioner and one for beneficiary using the current legal name and noting any other names used as applicable.

Who fills them out isn't important. She signs hers and you sign yours.
