ITIN and CA tax filing

Ok so I get you send your completed fed return with the w-7 for a ITIN but what about your state tax return (540) ? Does that go with the W-7 and 1040??

No, the feds do not want your state return.... check the CA filing instructions. It might be the CA 540 with the fed return as an attachement

Thanks for your reply Payxibka. I called the ftb this afternoon, they dont know how to handle it either, said they will call me tomorrow and let me know.

If I remember correctly, you put "filed for" under the ssn for CA. I did it last year so if i get a chance, i will check what I put.

I checked and I actually put all zeroes for CA tax in the ssn field.
