Hello,

We have sent the DS 230 and I-864 2 weeks ago to the US Consulate in Montreal (DCF).

We would like to know what is happenning next.

Do the US consulate send us a mail to confirm they got our documents?

do they call us? do they email us?

Or do they just send a mail few months later with the day of the interview?

We would like to know a bit the delay all what is going to happen after for us.

Thank you a lot.

P.

Hi,

In the letter they sent to you, requesting the I-864 and DS-230, it should say:

Once we have received and processed the completed DS-230 and your document checklist we will send you an appointment letter witth an appointment date and time and further instructions to prepare for your interview date etc etc

Did they not send you a letter requesting the I-864 and DS-230?

Basically after that they just send you an interview letter and instructions for getting the medical.

Ok, I am going to check again my immigration documents, because I think I got this letter, you are right.

Do you know the approximate delay to get the interview letter?

thank you again

Currently they are taking around 3-4 months to schedule an interview. If you have a look at the Montreal timeline to interview thread in the Canada forum it will give you a rough idea. Generally they only schedule a month or 2 in advance, so for instance if you sent the package back last week, and your interview is in 4 months, you probably won't hear back from them until early April.

are we going to get a bill at this second step of the process (DS-230 and I-864) before getting the letter of the interview?
