Travel to Russia with 2 passports

I just want to avoid having problems in Russia by showing 2 passports to say passport control when I am not asked. People use two passports to travel to Russia all the time, but showing them in the right order and at the right place does the trick for the fastest and easiest travel.

Thanks all for comments!

Mike.

But the original comment was regarding a USC arriving and presenting a US passport at the US border... The CBP has NEVER stamped my passport for an arrival back here...

So your saying that when you go back to the U.S. from say Russia... they don't stamp your passport? I am a USC and the CBP has always stamped it when I arrive... just not when I depart (of course the U.S. doesn't do that). I just want to make sure I understand what your saying....

Yeah, my passport has ALWAYS been stamped upon arrival in the US.

One time I came back to USA, the CBP officer and I had the following conversation:

I: Please choose a used page of the passport to put the stamp

CBP: I do not stamp American passport unless you ask me to

The last few times I have not had to say anything. They only stamp the customs form.

Wow, I have about 8 return trips to the U.S. and every time it was stamped. I have used four airports.... none on your list.... and every time it was stamped. Maybe its an cbp officer/ airport difference?

The only airports that always stamped mine were EWR and PHL
