Welcome! :)

A tip: Put your timeline in your signature (Go to My Controls - Edit Signature) instead of putting it in your actual post. That way you don't have to copy/paste it every time and it makes it easier to distinguish from your post. You may also consider a smaller font for it.

Congratulations on filing & good luck!!

Is anyone here filing with a joint sponsor?

If so, can you answer this simple little question?

We're using my husband's dad as a co-sponsor. Now, he lives in the same household as us. Is he "If you are using the income of persons in your household or dependents to qualify," or "If you are a joint sponsor, substitute sponsor, or the relative of an employment-based immigrant requiring an affidavitof support, proof of your citizenship status, U.S. national status or lawful permanent resident status"?

I don't know which one he is technically, and there's different stuff I have to send in with both... help please?

Awesome! Now the waiting for biometrics starts...

Can you track your cases online already? Mine aren't showing up...I hate to think I will be in the same spot as my K1 petition, not being able to track it at all.

Unfortunately not, I tried all numbers (back of checks, NOA1...) - none yield any case status. They all say that no such case exists. I'm hoping that this will change after the biometrics appointment.

I think technically he is the latter.... a co sponsor/joint sponsor. As a cosponsor it does not matter if he lives in the same household. You and your husband or not dependents of the father. The "using the income of persons in you household " option is for the spouse (immigrant) if it comes from a U.S based company, or monies that from child support and things of that nature

here's a section of the I-864 -

"Your household size includes yourself and the following

individuals, no matter where they live: any spouse, any

dependent children under the age of 21, any other dependents

listed on your most recent Federal income tax return, all

persons being sponsored in this affidavit of support, and any

immigrants previously sponsored with a Form I-864 or Form

I-864 EZ affidavit of support whom you are still obligated to

support. "

I hope others come along with some input to help you better. :help:
