Aw man, so you're saying Californian residents usually get interviews because of all the illegals?

What a bummer.

I still hope for a CSC transfer.

Yeah I havent seen any CSC transfers from our area unfortunately.

Wow this sucks.

I guess I better start looking into things that prove a relationship.

I wonder if there's a list around somewhere...

Quick rundown of what I have so far:

Insurance (car, health, renters) in both names

Cellphone in both names

Time Warner bill (cable, internet, home phone) in both names

Joint Chequing, savings acount

wedding pictures

and I should be getting on the lease when we resign this month so I would have that too.

(hope that helps)

Yeah, that is helpful.

The only thing I can really get on right now I guess is his bank account and his car insurance.

Probably his vonage bill too.

That's all we really have... no medical insurance, no life insurance, no lease.

I was really counting on not having to do this.

If you have pictures of the wedding, any cards you got from people you can use that. Get his family to write affidavits attesting to the legitimacy of your marriage. If you're living with his parents, get a letter about that.

Yeah, I've got a whole album of pictures.

I'll have to get my mom and maybe my husband's sister to do the affidavits. Maybe also an aunt since they usually have time to kill at work.

And yeah, we're living with parents. I'll just type something up and get them to sign it. One of them doesn't really write/read english that well and the other's just too busy for that stuff

Guess I better make a To Do List.

How about other joint memberships you have? Like gym memberships, Costco memberships?

I've read that these COULD be used to establish pooling of financial resources.

Just a thought.

Thanks for this idea. We only have joint account and pictures. So affidavits will be good from his parents since we live with them.

He doesn't have membership anywhere except the NRA.

I'm not very sure about becoming a member of that

I think cases are transferred based on several things. California for example has a few backlogged areas (for obvious reasons) but almost everyone here gets an interview (I actually haven't found one in CA that has been transferred to CSC yet), and most of us its not because theres anything wrong with our application. I think it may have to do more with the high volume of people who AOS from non-immigration visa's or something like that.

Congrats on your transfer tacq!!

Thank you!

AOS and EAD

18 Feb 2010 - Sent AOS package

20 Feb 2010 - Package arrived in Chicago (confirmed through USPS)

03 Mar 2010 - NOA1 AOS/EAD (hard copies) - notice date: 26 Feb 2010

09 Mar 2010 - Biometrics Appointment letter on mail. Appointment date: Mar 23.

11 Mar 2010 - Biometrics taken. (Walk in)

12 Mar 2010 - Case transferred to California Service Center!

19 Apr 2010 - AOS approved and Green Card production ordered

30 Apr 2010 - EAD approved and card production ordered

Note: For some strange reason I don't know, my AOS process was approved before the EAD process. I can't complain though, But I believe once I have my green card, I will have to return the EAD.

I think its because its one of the states with a lot of illegal immigrants in it. Theres a lot of people who try to adjust from other ways of entering the country, and as such all of us end up with an interview so they can't say they are picking on any specific group or type of application for further scruteny. *shrug*

Cammie, the worst problem is I dont have a mail key yet, so I have to rely on our roommate to go check the mail. If it was me I would be checking it compulsively every day!

I don't know how you stay so chill when you can't check the post! It's probably just your sweet, laid back nature, Steph.

So HOLY MOLY, someone's got their interview date sorted, and tacq's been transferred to CSC, like Liz. And a few others got their Bio letters … it's a GREAT weekend for Feb. filers.

Liz girl, I wish I could figure out how the minds at the USCIS decide on what and whatever. I think Danu's explanation for why Calif. filers don't go to CSC is pretty spot-on. Some think their transfer is down to them having done something "right," and I put them in with people who get their GCs and then come on and tell the rest of us how to do it, as if it were that easy (and btw, those are my favorite posts  ); meanwhile, I just roll the dice and hope I come up lucky!

Congrats on your touches, pisces!!

The worst is every time someone else gets their interview letter (congrats lirwin! If you do get your EAD before the interiview it will probably be for like a week or 2 and you have to give it up at the interivew, so you're more likely to get the stamp or whatever at the interivew) which I just stole the mail key from the roomy, no letter for me yet lol.

And I love those people too, obviously we did something wrong which is why we get an interview  I seriously peaked at Santa Ana and on VJ there is no record of a transfer EVER. Theres a bunch of other area's in CA like that too I can only imagine that the cause is like I said, a lot of people here illegally trying to adjust to stay.

I went to Sally beauty today and got an acrylic kit, going to try to do my nails on my own seeing as I can't afford to get them done while I'm not working. My nails are nice but very weak and I break them by doing the stupidest little things, like doing up a zipper, or today - undoing my purse (which is only held together with one of those magnetic clasps, so its not like its hard). Going to try to do them tomorrow while Wes is at work, hoping they turn out good!
