Nice . . . congrats on the completed Bios and Bio Letters received. Hey spygame, where did you have your successful walk-in bio? 'Cause I'd like to fly there.

i got my bio done at the san francisco center on broadway street

I had mixed emotions today. My husband called me and said that I have the bio appointment letter already and I am scheduled on March 18! Yey for now! But they overlooked on the change of address I made. To make the story short, last Feb 26 I made a change of address online for both my 3 applications. And just to be sure that all changes have been updated, I called the USCIS customer rep and confirmed it. After 2 days, I got 3 notifications from USCIS regarding the changes made and they mailed it to my NEW address.

However, my biomterics appointment letter which was dated March 3 was still mailed to my old address and they want me to go to my old state which is Florida and have the biometrics done at the local office there. I am in Texas now, and my husband will follow next week.

So I called the rep this morning and she said she cannot do anything about it since I am already scheduled to appear in that office. If I fail to be there, my application will be deemed abandoned. (are they kidding me?!) She said, I should write a letter addressed to that local office in FL and ask them to reschedule my biometrics. I asked for an office number so I can talk to someone and help me with it, but shesaid they do not entertain those concerns over the phone and that I should write the letter myself.

I was so frustrated! Just when I thought everything is in place, the people handling my application messed up and now they want me to fix the mistake they did!

Anyway, my hubby got an infopass for tomorrow and will be requesting for a reschedule. I hope we can still have the same appointment date though. And to my surprise tonight, I opened my email and got a letter from USCIS stating that my I-485 applicationa has been transferred to CSC already.

Do you think this issue will cause any delay or problem with my application? I am getting a little sad here....

So sorry to hear that. I was a little concerned about that myself... and I had even posted the question a few posts ago... So could you not fly to FL and get it done there? I know its expensive to fly...but would that somehow solve the problem? And maybe the change of address would kick in eventually?

I filed for AOS 2/19, still no biometrics. We were thinking possibly moving after bio and receiving EAD/AP. Or should we wait till I get the green card. We are moving cos any emergency, we have the option to wait. So I didn't know if anyone would suggest moving after Bio? or EAD/AP is recv'd? or Green-Card? or Never

MY Question...This is a stretch of a question....but I was wanting some feedback on relocating while AOS is in process. My wife and I were thinking of moving. I filed for AOS 2/19, still no biometrics. We were thinking possibly moving after bio and receiving EAD/AP. Or should we wait till I get the green card. We are moving cos any emergency, we have the option to wait. So I didn't know if anyone would suggest moving after Bio? or EAD/AP is recv'd? or Green-Card? or Never

Manohars, maybe if you post this in the forum on AOS rather than the progress reports thread you'll reach a larger audience and have your question answered. I have no idea how to even begin thinking about your question, except to say, it seems the simplest if you wait til getting the green card, since I think you're saying you aren't moving because of any emergency.

How do you find out about CSC? Is it email? Does the "My Case Status" indicate the transfer somewhere?

Thanks KnJ..I found out when I checked "My Case Status" for I-485. It said it was transferred and I will get a letter in the mail

We tried a walk-in biometrics at USCIS in Seattle this morning and we were unsuccessful.

We arrived there 30 minutes before they opened. We were with only 4 other people.

The officer at the counter said "We used to do walk-ins. We don't anymore."

Oh well, we don't mind waiting 12 more days. It would have been nice if we accomplished the biometrics early, though.

Hope everyone waiting for NOAs and ASC letters get theirs today. Good luck everyone!

Morning all....this is a quick hi and bye from me today. I'm off work at 1:00 and then off tomorrow and Friday too!

Congrats on all the bio letters, transfers and anything else I missed!

If I don't make it back on in the next couple of days, I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I know I can't wait for mine....hubby and I are meeting some friends we made here on VJ for dinner Saturday night....it's the second time we've met up and we can't wait to see them again!!! To Manohars:

My husband went to the infopass appointment this morning and the guy from the FL local office told him that the USCIS agent I talked to over the phone yesterday did not know the whole steps, thus, advised me to write the letter. He said, I can just take the letter to the nearest USCIS in the area where we moved and since my records have been updated already, then there wont be any problem as long as I keep the appointment date.

As for your concern about moving while AOS is in process, it really wont be a problem as long as you properly inform the USCIS office and comply with their process. It is indicated in the NOA letter anyway about their instructions in such instances.

So I am relieved with that issue for now. Good luck to all of us and I hope we all get speedy process! Have a great day!

For all the bad news sorry to hear that... but for now I can't reply much. I am leaving soon to attempt a walk-in biometrics in Salt lake City center (in Taylorsville).. I will update you what will happen. Although, I think I am the only one from Utah here...

Wow, thanks for the info Markieboy. I received a letter on Monday requesting I redo my fingerprints. I'm also in Seattle, and was debating whether to attempt a walk-in or not. Main reason for hurry was that I've already wasted time with the first failed biometrics! (And I need that EAD as soon as possible, it's recruiting period for us students.)

It's alright. It was 50/50 chance of success. At least my wife and I had a lovely drive and breakfast together! Hahaha.

You're welcome, luckykat! You may have better luck with a walk-in. In our case, we thought we'd have the best chance at going first thing in the morning. It was even more encouraging that there were only a few people waiting. Unfortunately, though, they were very strict with policy. Anyway, good luck with your biometrics! Hope this time there's no problems!
