Sorry about your attempted walk in John and Camie..... There was definitely a better way for security to handle it. Have they ever heard of courtesy? So... is it the ASC's policy to not allow walk ins at that location or did he decide he did not want anyone walking in today? It would be interesting to find out when you go if they normally allow walk-ins. I do not know whatelse is in the building where the ASC is in Santa Ana. But here, Social Security and other state/gov agencies are in the same buidling. So, they do not ask what you are entering the building for. Matter of fact, the date before we did our walk in, I went to the ASC and asked if they did walkins with just my ID to get into the building.

Today I got this update:

March 8, 2010, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

:wow:

I was surprised to hear this because I got the RFE and sent in a response by writing a letter explaining how the medical should be there ( medical receipt and vaccination supplement form signed by the panel physician) ... I sent it a week again Monday. I was not expecting to hear anything from them for 2 or 3 weeks or accutally get a full medical again. I am thankful! However, there have not been any touches on my husband's EAD or AP.

I hope this is not a dream

Oh good grief...that's right....they so need to get their act together when it comes to the I-693!!!

btw...i see your in Austin....did you go to an ASC office there to do your biometrics or did you have to come to San Antonio?

Yes, I did the walk-in here in Austin. The people at the ASC office were very nice.

Opening Scene, John's Biometrics, Part I

(We're among the first there. John gives security his letter, shows his passport)

Security: Okay, go in. No, wait … no, no, no. This letter says the 18th. (patronizing voice) Today isn't the 18th, today is the 8th.

(John tries to explain)

Me: Oh yes, I know, but his appointment is for noon next week, and I have to work, so I was hoping we could just do it now.

Security: Well, you have to come back on the appointment date. I cannot let you in, by (blah blah blah) of President Obama.

Me: Your office has allowed walk-ins just recently.

Security: (caught off-guard) I know, but not today.

Me: You've just decided this.

Security: Yes I have.

Me: You're an a**hole.

(John and I turn and walk away)

Security: Blah blah blah … tresspassing. (I didn't hear him because we were walking away)

Me: (shouting over my back) Oh, #### off!

End Scene.

So, walk-in did not work, LOL.

Was I disappointed? Not really, we'll just come back next week.

Was I pissed off? Hells yeah, because security was a jerk. There's no excuse for being rude, I don't care who you are.

Anyway, that's that. IF YOU ARE DOING BIOMETRICS IN SANTA ANA, JUST ASSUME THAT THERE ARE NO WALK-INS.

Tune in next week when John and I will try it again.

Oh! I'm sorry to hear that. That security guard should be taught some manners.

Hmmm...ok. I'm hoping we have good luck with the S.A. ASC office this week. I'd much rather not have to wait 2 weeks for Pat's appointment. I posted a question on the main AOS thread but not a single reply so far......guess not many people from San Antonio on here...lol!

I'm sorry to hear that Cammie. The guard did seem a bit snotty to me when we went too, when he told us Wes couldnt come in. Hopefully next week it goes better. As a note though you shouldnt have to wait till nooon for your appointment, as mine was at 8am and they told me I had till 3 to get it done (I had forgotten my marriage cert and had to go home to pick it up lol)

... and I'm now at work, LOL! I was posting from home the first time.

prettyunique, WOO!! CSC, that's prettyawesome. I'm so happy for you, that's really great!

Thanks everyone, *hugs* for your awesomeness (I know, not a word, haha) re: the security guard situation. Oh, I could've knocked him out. Steph, you're sooo right, he was a dillweed from the second I confirmed with him that I was to wait outside (all I said was, "spouses can't go in, right?"). And I was nice as pie! He just pushed and pushed with his rotten attitude. Hiding behind his security clothes and badge. I just wasn't having it.

Manohars, I think you were asking what to bring . . . I've got the letter in front of me, and it says "when you go to the application support center to have your biometrics taken, you must bring: 1. this appointment notice, and 2. photo identification. We also brought along our NOA1s just to be on the safe side, but I'm gonna bring along a copy of our marriage cert. next week as well. Who knows what they'll want at this point.

Congrats to all the NOA1s, Bio Letters/completed Bios, and WOO!! - CSC transfers!!

I didn't see this get answered...

Other than blood pressure meds for dealing with security....What all do u have to take to the biometrics appointment?

What to bring is outlined on the appointment letter, but basically it's the appointment notice and photo ID, be it foreign passport or state drivers license.

That's it.

I recommend not using hand lotion before the appointment. I think that made taking the fingerprints a LOT harder for my guy. He kept having to wipe my fingers and the plate. I was surprised actually, there was no hand sanitizer where I went.

ETA: oooh I just checked the website and I got touches today for I-485 and EAD. :energy:

I didn't use any hand lotion and they had to keep doing that too, I think its to make the prints as clear as possible. Not having oil though would probably help a lot.
