Hello, fellow February filers! I need your advice on this one... Yesterday, I received a RFE from USCIS asking me for my Form I-693. But the problem is, I already SUBMITTED the I-693 (in a sealed envelope) along with the rest of the documents in the packet that I sent them. Why are they requesting me for the I-693? Did they lose it while going through my documents?   What should I do? Good thing I have a copy of the I-693 that the Civil Surgeon gave me...

Hmm. I am not sure... I read somewhere in Visajourney about fake RFE's, I am not sure if this is the one... maybe there's a way to call them. Does anyone know?

By the way, thanks for all the birthday wishes :D

Morning Camie! Your so right...I can't stop myself from checking our online status a hundred times a day but each time I do, I pray I don't see RFE...lol!

Finally Friday is right....any plans?

SLEEP, girl! Then our Saturday rituals - morning run to our favorite cafe, a pizza and back home to call my mother-in-law. I love Saturdays. What's going on in Liz Land?

Oh, dan.and.audrey - Sounds like you've become the latest casualty of the I-693 RFE fiasco. Danu, can you shed some light on this? Are we still being advised to do an Infopass to have USCIS pull our medicals? What an effing nightmare. I'm just waiting for this ish to happen to me.

By the way, thanks for all the birthday wishes :D

I just finished talking to a customer service representative on the phone (I called the USCIS toll free call center). I told her that I had submitted the I-693 with the rest of the documents. She said that I should write a letter stating that it's with them already and that I should attach the I-693 copy that the Civil Surgeon gave me... If I do that, how certain am I that they will not send me another RFE?

LOL...that will be us too since my daughter will be at her dad's this weekend! When she's there is the only time we get to sleep in..lol! And then with the weather being bad most of the weekend, we're FINALLY going to paint her room! We've been putting it off but she made us promise to do it this weekend...lol!

I just finished talking to a customer service representative on the phone (I called the USCIS toll free call center). I told her that I had submitted the I-693 with the rest of the documents. Hi...I've read on here where other people who got this particular RFE were told to do the same thing that customer service told you and once they did, they didn't have any other problems. I hope this will be all it takes for you and your back on track soon!!!

If you took down her name, I suggest including her name, employee number, whatever you can in the letter to reference that you spoke to someone, then tack it onto a printed copy of Section 2 of Page 4 of the I-693 instructions, highlighted, that state that you do not need another medical, just the supplement.

This will be my plan of action if the Infopass does not work.

RFE: "You have indicated that you last entered the United States as a K or V non-immigrant. Please submit a properly completed and signed copy of the medical exam conducted overseas on Form DS-2053, Medical Examination for Immigrant or Refugee Applicant, for the applicant on Form I-485. If you do not have a completed Form DS-2053, please submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693, report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, for the applicant on Form I-485..."

I already had my vaccinations done by the Civil Surgeon.

Argh. I hate that those RFEs don't have more information >_<

I believe the DS-2053 is the full medical form and the DS-3025 (vaccination documentation worksheet) is the only one they give us a copy of (why didn't they just give us a copy of the whole overseas medical?!!! It would make everyone's lives so much easier).

It seems like they're looking for the whole medical. It might be that they lost it along the way... >_<

Hopefully that's not the case and they just misplaced the I-693 you submitted with your AOS packet.

You have two options:

1. Submit a copy of the I-693 that the CS filled out with a letter as the USCIS rep suggested

2. Have another full medical :(

I hope so too...and it wouldn't hurt to do like Camie said and send a copy of the I-693 instructions where it says that being a K1 you don't need a full medical again.

My husband recieved that exact same RFE. They are implying that they can not locate your medical. It has been stated on the forums that contract worker are the first to receive our applications. As such they do not know the policy and procedures of those who entry with the K1 visa and the approved medical requirement

So.... We went to an Infopass and let me say that was a complete waste of time. The local uscis do not have your file. It is being processed at the National Benefits Center first. Other who have tried this route also did not find it helpful.

I have contacted my senator and they are on it as of Monday. They are waiting for a reply which I was told could take up to 2 weeks. I do not know if it was a mistake but I also decided to sent the RFE letter with a written statement about how the medical should be at a USCIS office because it was handed in a the POE. In the letter, I sent the vaccination supplement and the reciept of the medical. I had already sent in the vaccination transcription by the CS. Well I got a status update per email and it said that they have recieved my response and the case has resumed. But from what i understand it does not mean that they will like what I sent. So I am hoping that the senator will still be able to do some thing about it. I call today, the NBC have not responded to here yet.

My husband recieved that exact same RFE. They are implying that they can not locate your medical. It has been stated on the forums that contract worker are the first to receive our applications. As such they do not know the policy and procedures of those who entry with the K1 visa. So.... We went to an Infopass and let me say that was a complete waste of time. The local uscis do not have your file. It is being processed at the National Benefits Center first. Other who have tried this route also did not find it helpful.

I have contacted my senator and they are on as of Monday. They waiting for a reply which I was told could take up to 2 weeks. I do not know if it was a mistake but I also decided to sent the RFE letter with a written statement about how the medical should be at a USCIS office because it was handed in a the POE. In the letter, I sent the vaccination supplement and the reciept of the medical. Well I got a status update per email and it said that they have recieved my response and the case has resumed. But from what i understand it does not mean that they will like what I sent. So I am hoping that the senator will still be able to do some thing about it. I call today, the NBC have not responded to here yet.

Thank you, prettyunique. Pretty much bottom-lines it for me.

I think what I'll do is call USCIS, take down the customer service rep's employee info, write a cover letter with that info and reiteration that the medical was, in fact, done, and then tack it onto the copy of the CS's I-693 and highlighted K-1 info on the I-693 instructions.

Providing, of course, that I'll even need to do this. I suspect I will, the way things are going at the mo.

Good luck getting it all resolved, dan.and.audrey. (F)
