The IO ended by telling us that we would have a decision or interview within 6 months.

LOL...you'll never believe when I say I was actually not surprised about this. I had been doing some searching on the USCIS site at the difference processing times at different offices and saw that for my local office and really the majority of local offices the processing time for GC's was 6 months. I warned hubby that it could be that long.....he's satisfied right now with having his EAD so we'll just sit back and wait to see what happens. One can hope that it won't take that long but I'm not going to waste time getting upset anymore....

Hopefully, CSCs have their APs for traveling. What a mess. Someone on another post (the K-1 fee hike I've been biatching about) actually had the nerve to say that people are ridiculous to get upset because a) the fee hike was to be expected, and b) fee hikes have been the reason why filers are seeing quick processing times.

Another GCless day, it has been 3 weeks since interview.

I scheduled a InfoPass to get a stamp in my passport, so I can remove the conditions on my SS.

It was a Mod, too. Of course they can dump on everyone complaining about the K-1 hike, they don't have to worry about it. I'm sorry, but I feel bad for those who are just now filing. Not only to they have to pay more, I hear the processing time is now 6 months!!

There are some Mods on here who are genuinely good people, helpful and kind to newbies, but a lot of them are so self-righteous, I can't take it sometimes.

So I got an email today saying they are sending me my approval, so I hope thats my GC.

As for the other stuff, I'm totally not surprised but I am a bit skeptical just because it is the misinformation line and more times than not CSC approves the petition without an interview. Its also weird cuz certain places when you look them up, all the people there get transferred to CSC, so their local offices must not do anything.

SIX MONTHS?! Anyway, interesting. And maybe true, maybe not. I wouldn't count on a person whose job is to field phone questions knowing whether, statistically speaking, a transferred case is more likely or less likely to be interviewed. Am I mistaken, or have we seen a significant number of people on VJ whose cases were transferred not receive an interview?

Also, I thought the "initial verification" and any requests for information was carried out by the Chicago office where we mailed the AOS application to, not the local field office, and that only after that stage would it be sent to the local field office. No? If the only purpose of the Chicago Lockbox is to forward applications to applicants' local field offices, then why are we not instructed to simply send the applications directly to our local field offices? Something doesn't sound correct to me.

Any others have thoughts?

True or not, at this point I am no longer going to let this process get to me. I have realized that VJ is good and should be used as a guide and not as the format as to which all cases are processed, because every case is different and is handled by different people in different locations...so there is no cut and dry template. I look at it this way...we have AP and EAD, so waiting 6 months is no big deal. Believe me, I understand your frustration, but honestly, what can we do, other than wait?

Anyone knows about that how long it will take for GC arrival after approval notice received? Normally 3 days, right? But I not yet got it today is the 3rd day.

I feel sorry the posple who were transfered to CSC and hasn't approved.... I thought people who were transfered to CSC would be faster than us....
