Congrats Markieboy on your approval. I guess your IO just wanted to review it a little more before she officially approved you guys. But I am glad you didn't have to wait too long before hearing that you were approved.

Thanks, candhan! Yeah, that seems to be the case. Anyway, I'm glad we were approved. One less thing to worry about.

Congrats Markieboy!!

Thanks Camie!

Actually, now I have a question.

Did anyone actually receive notices in the mail saying that their AP and EAD was approved? It says that they mailed me notices but I never EVER got any. I got my actual AP, but no approval notice.

Is this normal?

Actually, I never received notices either by mail, email or text until the day my wife's GC was approved. It is now [last week and yesterday], I received a text advising her EAD was approved

When she received her card, she also received the approval letter, two APs ALL in on the same day..

Geesh, 3/18?!! I thought CSC transfers were supposed to speed things up. And here I was thinking you were done.

No, if the statistics one can draw from the info here about Feb. 2010 filers are any

indication, then it appears that, on average, cases transferred to the CSC are processed

SLOWER than those that get interviews, not faster.

Today is Day 107 for us. Nothing on our AOS since the day status became available on-line.

This may be a stupid question, but I was wondering -- since I've already been approved for a Green Card but don't actually HAVE it in hand, would I still be able to travel to Portland to Vegas on a plane using my Canadian passport? I'm not too sure if I'll be getting it yet (I received a notification that it's being produced, but I don't know how long that is going to take) but since I'm only traveling in the US, would it be okay? I

Traveling inside the US -- OK to use your Canadian passport for ID purposes [or any state ID].

Traveling outside the US -- you need a greencard, or (as an alternative) get an Infopass to your local USCIS office, and get a stamp on the passport.

Regarding the delay in receiving the Greencard, which a lot of people are mentioning:

On May 11th, USCIS had a press release for a new version Greencard. Unlike the previous one (pink), this is truly green.

My guess is all greencard production in late April was held back until this new version was released to the public. The efforts that takes to change the printing setting and validating it is mind boggling -- especially when you deal with a tamper proof (or tamper resistant) card.

My wife's interview was on Apr 27, and so far we received 2 notifications of card production: Apr 28, and May 12th. I truly think the Apr 28 notification was to "calm me down", and the May 12th one is the "true approval for card production".

Usually transfers to CSC get processed faster. Lately, however, these transfers have been taking longer than those with interviews.

I'm not really sure what premium processing is. Perhaps that's the term used for cases that are transferred to CSC. Keep on hanging in there...I know it is frustrating not hearing anything. (F)

Hi there,

thanks a lot..appreciate it...the waiting thing is really making me crazy..they said that transfers to CSc speeds up processing..thats why it keeps me wondering why its taking so long to hear from them.

But the thing is seeing everyone getting good news makes me believe i'll have "my own good news" soon..
