Hi everyone!

I have a question regarding AP. How long does it take to get it? What if you need to go back to your home country immediately, like for an emergency (example: death of a parent)? Does the AP expire? Can it only be used once?

Please forgive me for all the questions, but I would appreciate any responses.

Emergency cases are usually granted the AP no problem.

Once you get the AP, provided yo uchecked the multiple use

option, you can use it as often as you like in that year.

Infopass appointment made 7/27, earliest date 8.10 @ 1PM

Infopass found that NBC lost our 131 photos, it was approved on 7/10!

They are using 485 photos to process the 131 and should have sent it

out to us on 8/11 --- RECEIVED AP 8/18 !! whoohoo

Appointment notice rec'd 7/28, GC interview 9/19 @ 1PM

APPROVED, given a 1 year stamp - told the card would be mailed right away :)

Rec'd 2yr conditional GC 10 days after interview :)

It usually takes 2-3 months to recieve AP. In an emergency, it can be done very quickly. If you need to travel more than once, check multiple use on the form.

To get an emergency AP, you need to fill out a I-131, provide copies of what they ask for along with evidence of your emergency and go to your District Office. It's better if you make an INfopass appointment, but if you don't they do take a limited number of walk-ins for these types of reasons.
