I plan to go early.

Early appointment(earlier date) - how does that work?

Some places will allow you to do a walk in bio appointment before the actual date. Several people on here have done it, me included. Pretty much after you receive your bio letter take your letter and ID, and go down to your ASC and maybe if you're lucky you can get it over with before the actual date on your bio letter.

Hey guys I filed my paperwork on the 16th of Feb and they cashed my check on the 24th of Feb and I have still yet to receive anything from the USCIS not a receipt nothing. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, other than calling them tomorrow. Thanks

I didnt get mine yet either.
I wonder if it has anything to do with where we are from. I notice you're in Dallas, well Im in Houston. I know we have a lot of immigration due to the proximity to Central America, primarily Mexico, so our local offices are probably busier than others making it harder to get an early appointment. It also may have something to do with timing. I sent my first petition out right before the big rate hike and I remember a lot of other people did that too trying to avoid the deadline and extra fees so USCIS was bombarded with more applications that usual, now I assume it is time for all of those people to reapply too so maybe this is the second wave and USCIS is extra busy. Just a thought, I could be wrong.

For the people who got their bio appointment letters, where is your bio appointment office? It could help us gauge the status of our own local offices.

My ASC is Houston, there are several, but I have to go to the one on 290 (North West side of Houston). You're probably right that things will get pretty busy at the USCIS since everybody who applied around June/July 2007 are going to apply now for ROC. I hope for us that most people still need to file.... Good luck on getting your Bio appointment.

Thanks. Is there an online list of ASCs that do that? Also will this have any (bad) effect on your record?

You need to go to your local ASC listed on your appointment letter. If you go early in the day before they get busy, most probably they will accommodate you. There is not bad affect on the record if you go early and they ask you to come back... and there is no affect on your biometrics as well.

You can look on the USCIS site where your ASC might be:

At the bottom of the page you can enter your zipcode and it will show you which office you most likely have to go to. I got the same on there as on the bio letter, but you know how they are, make sure you go to the one on your bio letter if that is a different one!

I don't know about other offices, but I went for an early bio appointment walked right in at 3pm, and it was dead, seriously there was nobody in there, just me. But it probably is a good idea to go in early like say, right when they open. If I knew it was going to be that easy I probably would have went in a couple weeks earlier. GL!!

I would say, wait 30 days after they received your application. If still no NOA, make an info-pass at the nearest ASC and inquire. Good luck!

thank you i was looking for feb filiers went three pages down didnt see it. appointment is set for march 17 but will try march11. yes i know people goes early for bio but was wondering if anyone went to milwaukee in general not all field offices are equal but thank you .
