Hi everyone!!! I am little bit late here, but I am also February filer. Could you please add me to the list!!!!

I am still waiting for my fingerprinting appointment, and it been a month. Is this normal time to wait? Should I call to find out what is going on, or just wait? I thought it takes usually just 2 weeks or so for appointment letter to arrive.

An unofficial update

We mailed our i-751 on 2/25/10 to Vermont and they received our package on 2/27/10 (per the tracking from the US Postal Service)

They deposited our check on 3/01/2010 and hand wrote a number on the top corner of it. The number began EAC....

I tried to use this number on uscis.gov to add a new case to my portfolio but it continues to say :

Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

* Customer Portfolio Insert Failed

* Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the app receipt number.

Does this mean that the number on the check is not our case number or perhaps it hasn't been entered into the online system? Anyone else encounter this problem? I was just being over-eager but I think we'll wait for NOA 1 and try again.

You need to use the one on the biometrics letter.

Congrats ! One step closer.

I personally believe, this step should be skipped since its redundant. They have our finger prints from AOS and should make it a norm to reuse it for all the applicants (its not like we got new fingers). Interviews only when the application is not complete or they need more proof.

From what I understand the number to use to view your case online will be on your Biometrics notice so you'll have to wait a while longer.

Congrats ! One step closer.

I personally believe, this step should be skipped since its redundant. They have our finger prints from AOS and should make it a norm to reuse it for all the applicants (its not like we got new fingers). Interviews only when the application is not complete or they need more proof.

I absolutely agree that they need to skip this part in the process. Not everyone did AOS (like me, filed for I-130 and got a CR-1 after that), but every time you enter the country they obtain the information. I had a bio done in Sept 2004 for work and like you said, I doubt my fingers look different now. And besides that, I can't believe they scheduled my bio at 8 am on Monday morning in Houston.....it will take me 2 hours to get there if traffic is not bad and than 2 hours back. Great waste of my vacation time, ugh.
