Thanks!

I decided I'll take the eval next week and use a free trial version of the software for that, if I pass I'll buy it (It's really, really expensive). I'm just happy that I got trained in that software at school.

I sent out the resume today and got this offer 4 hrs later. Unbelievable :o

ETA: Good luck for your dad,Amby! Maybe the birth defect is something like my brother has, a major artery is not in the correct spot or has some twist in it.

Wow!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hey Commies!

First success: got offered a long-term freelance position with jobs daily. Pay is rather decent, I work from home. I have to take an evaluation test and maybe buy some software. All the other stuff (internet access, internet explorer, messenger is already in the house). They offer a consistent work flow, that means I get a minimum of words to translate per day. Sounds to good to be true...

 Great news! How long have they given you to respond to the offer? What about the other places to which you applied? By staying at home you'll cut down on frat boy's lebensraum.

They didn't give me a date. I think I'll answer tomorrow that I'll be able to do the test next week Tuesday. That way I have the chance to get back into that software and get all the settings right and such. I'm required to use that software and I won't be able to cheat because it's a special format you have to convert into Word with a different program. And it saves a lot of time.

I sent 3 resumes out today per email and this was the first response. One position has something to do with German (acct payable for a German company) and the other one is a real pro translator/interpreter job with a huge company. I might not get the job I applied for, but if they offer me a lower position I'll take it in a heartbeat.

And yes I'll be cutting down the lebensraum, my rules #######! Thom is usually not that bad, but being a student again might have done something to him. Maybe he'll grow up again. (and roommate Shaggie as well)

Latest news: 2 days ago he got ahold of my glasses and chewed them up a little, I can still wear them, but sooner or later I'll need new ones. I'm half-blind without them

This made me cry a little and get even more homesick. I can't handle this. I realized a few days ago I've been to Germany 5 times since I've been back to Louisiana. That ain't right.

At least that's a good sign, chewing means puppyhood.
