they are just so non-family like. I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant and no one wants to give me a hand with anything. My grandma is the only one worth dealing with.

I just prefer Luis's family. They are so much more supportive & helpful and I wish I lived closer to them. I want my kids to grow up with a family who really gives a ####### about them, as opposed to mine, everyone's only out for themselves.

the ex's family was always right there and adored the kids to the point of fault sometimes

to this day my kids know who really cares and they aren't close to my family really at all

it is quite a disappointment....most families here aren't the same as the ones from some of these other countries

they stick together, live together and get sh!t done together

we are very self serving here although I have seen some real great close knit families...thank god he sent me some real angels in my life and people willing to take me under their wing

Seriously, this has nothing to do with family sensibilities. If you see a pregnant lady you offer to help out any way you can, that's a common courtesy that's extended to strangers. Even if it's only offering a seat on the bus, you still do it. You're family, you're pregnant and they want to make you work. Azzholes. It's behavior like this that gives gringos a bad name. Jeez.

i mean we go in with all the best of intentions but sometimes, sadly, we just can't assess the person we "really" married
