I don't know. I went to Mom and had the weirdest idea. As Mom's condition deteriorated I imagined that perhaps our roles reversed, the child became the parent and the parent became the child. I beat myself us pretty good with self-recrimination and then I went to the doctor. I tried to talk about Mom but I could feel my stomach churning and my head pounding so I smiled as hard as I could lest the tears come streaming down my face. The doctor, who knows me quite well, looked at me and knew exactly what I was feeling and told me to take care of myself. I walked out of the mall got to the truck, still trying to hold in my tears, turned on the radio and was greeted with Anne Murray singing the song I just posted, Broken Hearted Me. I managed to get home safely with eyes filled with tears. In my heart I only want one thing, may GOD have mercy on me for thinking this; I want to go home where Mom and Grandma are and there is only one way to do that. I always figured a heart attack or stroke but a perforated ulcer does the job just as well. Maybe HE wishes to relieve my suffering in this way, I wish I knew. Every day I pray for succor and strength and forgetfulness. Attenuate my pain, LORD, make me forget or take me. I'm ready to go home. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your evening with this talk.

I was given two consults and now I'll make appointments with a GI man and an Endocrinologist and we'll see what they can do.
