lgg, it is the upright one on legs. this particular one was sold by the J.L. Hudson company cos the sticker is on the back......1920 something.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Honey, I grew up with antiques. It was tough as a kid.....we could never play cos my mom was always screaming, " Watch the antiques!!! ". Yeah, you can google the victrola. I think it is like almost 80 years old. The albums are in pristine condition.

Lol at Bumpy.

I have quite a few 78s including one of Edward VIII giving some speech on sportsmanship.

Wow hey guys... sorry I missed like all day. Bad morning, headache, crankiness... the stove broke, whiny kids/husband wanting breakfast etc etc....

Then Luis got on skype for like 3 HOURS talking to his family in Peru. Everytime I thought he was done, somebody else got on the camera.

Luis and I just got back from picking up the boys and going to Costco. I'm pooped.

Anything crazy going on today that I should know about?

You ate some of their chili?

This is the model i have:

Upright Floor Models

The most popular and common Victrolas were the upright floor models. The very first Victrola used this basic design, and variations of the upright floor model configuration continued until the Orthophonics were introduced in late 1925. Popular examples of this style include the VV-XVI, VV-X and VV-XI (after 1912), VV-XIV, and VV-100. Several variations of the floor design exist. The Victrola XVI (originally designated as "VTLA" on the dataplate) used a pair of unusual L-shaped storage doors with the horn opening in the middle (as seen in the photo below), which are referred to as "L-door Victrolas". "Conventional door" Victrolas have simple rectangular storage and tone control doors. Queen Anne type floor models (early XIV, VV-370 and a few others) are readily identified by the use of gracefully curved long legs supporting the cabinet. Upright Victrolas were discontinued in 1925.
