You have received good advice here. Get a copy of the joint bank account information from the bank even if there isn't any money in the account - it is still evidence. Keep copies of those emails he sends you whether they are threatening or whether they are his promising to change. Promising to change shows he knows he has has created problems and is good evidence of your situation at home. You can also use them as evidence for why the marriage broke up when you go to remove the conditions on your green card in two years. Getting a police escort is a good idea. Arrange with a friend for a safe place to store your things, and then go to a protected shelter address for yourself. You can also use the fact that you had to apply for a replacement green card as evidence, too, since he will not release your green card to you. That is actually theft since it belongs to you, not him.

Good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

When I applied for Removal of Conditions I received an e-mail saying that they sent my lGC and i should receive it soon. I did not have the problems that you have in your marriage but I still did not receive the GC.

I got the GC almost 3 months after. I just wanted to mention this to you, because it may be truth that there is no letter. Call USCIS, try to find out.

Good luck (F)

Why bother coming back?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I know him, trust me, and I know he was lying when he said there was no letter from the uscis. But Actually that´s one thing among all other more hurtful things he did to me, I can always get another gc, but there are some injuries they will never heal,

Go to the nearest police station and tell them that he assaulted you, you think stole your green card and you're in fear for your life.

GCS ST

telling this woman to "tell the police he assaulted you" is telling her to lie.

at best it is harrasment, reported long after the fact, after a seperation, under questionable circumstances.

My thoughts exactly, don't encourage VAWA when there is no evidence of this being such a case.
