First need to understand that global warming is a bunk science and always has been. Once that is established than we can talk about bunk sciences.

Now bring out the data and I can go get the data and post it disproving yours and we can go back and forth. And don't start with how all the scientists are in agreement. They are not and in fact more scientists are in disagreement over it. You are being taken for a ride and being sheep again for the sake of your party. We can also bring out the recent controversy about how the emails showed that the data was skewed and misrepresented and anything that showed that global warming in a false light was suppressed. If the data is so convincing then this would have never needed to be done.

Now suppose why is it that so many are trying to convince us that global warming is real? I think it is to control the citizenry but of course the best way is to follow the money as usual. This shows us that a lot of money is going to be made by certain people and NEW corporations as well as the power that comes from the party and media that is on the band wagon.

I'm for energy independence, if that helps with global warming then great. Think how awesome it would be if we were independant on foreign oil, there's be no "destabilizing force" to be concerned about as there probably won't be a war for oil.

Climate science is not 'bunk science'. What is true, and something that most climate scientist admit to, is that they do not know everything there is to know about the Earth's climate, nor do they believe that the climate models they currently use are the be all and end all. What they do know, and can show you, is that there is empirical evidence that the earth's mean temperature has increased above and beyond the normal fluctuation cycles (that have been produced using date collected over several centuries) without a corresponding natural phenomena to explain this increase.

Now, you can pretend that that isn't true if you like. That's up to you.

I forgot to add that there is a corresponding increase in the CO2 levels in the atmosphere during this mean temperature increase period, again, empirically measurable.

Far as I know, that has been debunked. CO₂ levels, and many other water soluble gases, increase after a period of warming sea temperatures, not as a precursor.
