Hello everyone! I just have a couple questions regarding the Affidavit I-134 for the K1 visa.

1) My fiancé doesn’t meet income requirements; his mom will be our co-sponsor. My questions is: is it just his mom who needs to fill out I-134 plus supporting documents since she is a co-sponsor OR do they both (fiancé and his mom) need to fill out I-134 and send TWO Affidavits to me plus supporting documents from each person (even though fiancé doesn’t meet income requirements)? I’m confused…

2) Also, if they both need to do it… fiancé and co-sponsor fill out the Affidavit forms, each of them attaches supporting documentation(Letter from Employer, paystubs etc.) and what happens next?? Do they simply need to mail them to me or do they need to notarize their Affidavits in the U.S. or something else? Do I understand it correctly that you don’t file Affidavit (I-134 for K-1) with USCIS, you just mail it to the beneficiary so that he/she brings it to the interview at the Embassy?

Thank ya’ll in advance!!

You will need a completed and signed affidavit with applicable supporting documents from the petitioner and additional sponsor. You take them with you to the interview. They are not notarized. Instead, they are signed under penalty of perjury.

Thanks so much! Does my fiance still need to get a Letter from Employer if he doesn't meet income requirements and has a part-time job?

No, I said "applicable" supporting documents.

I would still recommend he get one anyway. Its a big bonus just to show beyond a shadow of doubt that he DOES intend to support you :) Any scrap of evidence helps, especially with big things like income.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Get what? An employment letter, from a job without enough income? Pay stubs will do just fine in this case but an employer letter won't hurt.

The signed I-134 shows the intention to support the beneficiary.
