Anna, sadly my MIL is in Jordan and we support her so there wont be any gifts there and my mom isnt in my life. She hardly spends 20$ on Zaid for xmas and his birthday...Lack of grandmas does suck because I see my twin sisters MIL who buys her and her son EVERYTHING. Takes her to the spa every month, buys their son everything he needs, hundred of dollars spent on xmas, etc. It makes me semi envious. But on the flip side, I dont have a MIL to deal with.

P.S. I think Jack has grown oober popular the last few years which is why I would be iffy on naming my child that (i always like unique names) but I think a Jona and a Jack would be super cute :)

I cant beleive you are this close. I feel like it was like a month ago you said you were pregnant.

and yeah, I totally relate to the last minute fear of delivery. its like sitting at the top of a giant roller coaster hill and amd staring down the track. LOL and I felt that way with both my kids!

I know, right?

And btw, the roller coaster simile is a perfect description!!!

Hey guys! Back from our holiday and soooo jet lagged. The trip back was the trip from hell. We decided to fly on the red eye, hoping Declan would sleep the entire time. Well, we ended up with a long layover in Calgary and the stinker was so excited, he ended up playing there in the airport(we had thought he would be asleep in the stroller the entire time), so he didn't fall asleep until 12 am. He was restless on the flight, but did get some good sleep on our 3 hour drive from the airport home. Hubby and I did NOT sleep and are still tired today. The trip was amazing and the best part is, I was offered a new job while I was gone (I had interviewed for it before I went on holiday).

Kel, hope Laila works out for a name :) I like Amaya too.

About the pronounciations ... well, I think many names will be mispronounced, no matter what, so just go for the name you like best. I didn't think Declan would be a problem at all and, to this day, we STILL get "DEEEE CLAN", instead of Deck-lan.

Happy Bunny --- keeping you in my thoughts. Sleep as much as you can now :)

Guilty on thinking it was Dee-clan for a while (i realized it wasnt when we talked about this last year) but I think had you spelled it Decklan it wouldve alleviated mispronunciation. I do love the name Declan though and mispronunciations will happen everywhere. Same with me and Zaid on the spelling. I thought Zaid was the easiest way but I wish I had spelled it Zade. Oh well!!!!!!

Glad you made it home in one piece! Congrats on the job! I just got a promotion (found out it was approved today) and it will make my life alot easier. It will be equivalent to a years worth of day care costs (yes it was a huge promotion) lol. So having this baby isnt going to make life anymore difficult! yay

Yay Kel for the promotion. I am procrastinating writing my resignation letter but I do need to turn it in tomorrow :(

Checked out other daycares today because we will have to switch Declan.

I'm trying to remind myself change is good, because this is hard :)

I have to admit, I think I was pronouncing Zaid, zay-eed as well, until we talked earlier this year.

Declan is the traditional spelling and I like it, but sometimes I do wish I had spelled it differently. Oh well.

Karen, I can imagine its tough but your right, change is good. Im sure your making the right decision!

Im sooo sick of this little baby wreaking havoc on my body. If its not a yeast infection its a headache, if its not a headache, its dizziness, if im not dizzy, its nauseau!! WHEN WILL I FEEL BETTER??? I had 0 symptoms with Zaid. 16+ weeks already and waiting for my relief to come.

Hello everyone! :D

I have posted on this topic before, but it was about trying to get pregnant with irregular periods. Well, since then, I was on clomid for one cycle, then decided it wasn't for me (bleh side effects, decided to wait out the full 12 months of trying). Now, after 9 months of consecutive trying, and just when we put baby-making on the back burner for a while, I took two hpts and got BFPs (a nice 23rd b-day present)!!! I took the Clearblue Easy Digital to confirm the Dollar Tree New Choice, and it's really true! I now have a Dr. apptmnt next week to confirm with bloodwork and see how far I am. I have NO idea how far I am (2 wks? 4 wks?) because I have irregular cycles.

I am an avid reader of the Baby Corner and I am excited to be part of this community of lovely baby-mamas!

This is my first-ever pregnancy, so far no morning sickness, just a funny feeling in my uterus and a little bloating. And I must say I feel very cautious all the time, I guess its "first-pregnancy paranoia"...

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Congratulations and Welcome!! I don't know what it is about being a mom (and I swear I am not even PMS-ing) but I get so choked up when I read stories like this. I am very happy for you!

Congrats, Marm!

Also, congrats Kelly, on your promotion and your (very likely) little girl. I like Laila. :) I hear you on the neverending unpleasant symptoms. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and am still queasy, dizzy, tired, etc. No headaches for a few weeks, tho, knock on wood.

Thank you, ladies, for the feedback on the monitors, wraps, and kid carriers. I think I'll put them all on my registry and see how I do. My sister is hosting a shower for me on Sept. 19. It's a "modern" type with males and beer welcome. Football will likely be on.

Now for a subject I'm sure everyone can appreciate: diapers! I'm looking at various options and would like to avoid using disposables if possible. One of my friends is using GroVia (formerly GroBaby), which allows you to use either reusable cloth inserts or disposable biodegradable inserts. She thinks they're awesome but not the best for a newborn. I'd also consider traditional cloth. I'm open to the possibility that we may end up having to use at least some disposables, and another friend already gave us two big boxes of disposables that her baby has outgrown. People seem to like Pampers.
