@ Twila: I hope they feel better soon! Jona only was sick for a couple hours and threw up once with croup, but he was treated with epinephrine nebulizers. Apart from the treatments he ate, slept and of course was clingy, but I stayed in the hospital with him the entire time (epi cannot be dispensed outside of a hospital). So I think they probably will feel better soon. Hanna sounds like the secondary infection is the worse part. Croup itself is viral and goes away rather quickly.

Oohh the moby... I just got myself a Didymos wrap from Germany and the Ergo will be bought in December. I still love my MaiTei from Babyhawk a lot, but Jona outgrew it, he also is loving to walk everywhere so our baby carriers and stroller are just dust collectors currently. ;)

@ Kelly: I could swear I'm having a boy, funny how we both are pretty sure. I won't know for a while, I didn't want to know, but DH does. So October 4th it is for my one and only ultrasounds (anatomy scan) of this pregnancy, provided it's approved by my insurance. I won't know until September 4 or later, they cannot approve it more than 30 days in advance, gag. I hate having to wait!

When I was pregnant with the twins, I was sure they were boy/boy. My husband thought they were girl/girl. I guess it was preparing ourselves for what we saw as our worst nightmares (I couldn't imagine having twin boy toddlers and my husband couldn't imagine have twin girl teenagers). We were happy with one of each, so we weren't tempted to try for any more!

As for carriers, my sister got us one, but we ended up going out and buying another more padded one. We had to use ours out of necessity, but not until Hana and Zak were 6 months old. When they grew out of their infant seats, we needed a way to carry both of them up and down the flight of stairs and around the building where we live. This came in sooooooo useful. It's hard to imagine we could still use it with them due to their weight.

I can't wait to hear what the next baby boom will bring, gender-wise!

hey there, we made it to Germany! We got stuck at JFK for 7 hours due to a "broken" plane, but the flight couldn't have been easier. It was 11pm when we got on the plane and Ben fell asleep as soon as we took off and he didn#t wake up until we were parking the plane in Berlin! He slept for 15 hours the first night and had a much easier time adjusting to the time than I! he loves the food and his grandparents. I went to a wedding yesterday and he had the time of his life with grandpa! We are having such a good time, I missed this so much...

Nizzy: I hope you will be better soon! Maybe they can do an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok, no cysts etc.

Twila: hope the twins will be better soon!

I am glad that you made it there safe and sound. That is so great that Ben is adjusting so well. I am def going to get them to do an ultrasound, thanks for the well wishes. Enjoy your stay!

Went early today for a 3d ultrasound instead of monday. The little stink had his/her hand over its "parts" I did however see the "3 white lines" and the tech said shes 95% sure its a GIRL! I go back Friday to double check but Im assuming my intuitions were accurate. Now the battle over names continues. Sof has decided (simply bc of his familys opinion) that he does not like Laila. :(

Awww! too cute! If we had a girl I am sure hubby and I would battle over names too. We are on the same page when it comes to boys names though. How about the name "Zahra"?

Doesnt Zahra mean cauliflower? lol IDK its cute I guess but not for me. I need simple, semi american names. American people would NEVER know how to pronounce the H in Zahra and would say something like "Zar-ra"

My family cringed when we said we were gonna name Zaid, Zaid. lol And for how easy it is to pronounce, strangers call him Zay-eed all the time and I have to correct them and say "No....Its Zaid, like Zade etc etc"

I like Laila, Aleena, Ayah, Amaya, and maaaaaybe Salma

Hubby likes Reeham, Deanna, Salwa, and some D name I forget.

We had agreed on Laila a long time , hubbys just being difficult..Ill get my way, I always do

cauliflower?? lol Not in my language...maybe in Arabic...tehehe...Yeah I get what you are saying about finding a cultural name that is easy for people here to pronounce. I know that is what I was aiming for with Eman but it still gets said incorrectly. It didn't help that hubby wanted to spell it with an "e" instead of an "i" cause he thought people would call him " I-Man". Now they pronounce it like "lemon" without the "l". I like your choices of Ayah and Amaya...those are cute.

aww Laila was my favorite! I love the name. It sounds arabic to me. Maybe you'll be able to change his mind, you still have time! The hospital where I used to work in Berlin had predominantly arab/turkish patients, so here and there there were a few names that I liked. for example I love the name Emre for a boy or Cem. Girls are harder, I remember a few Sina's, Alena's, Najla's, Aaliya's or Dilara's... Elif, or Elin, but I'm not sure how they are all pronounced in english. I guess it's up to the parents. :P

If Adam was a girl he would have been Zara (like his grandmother, Zahra) but pronounced the American way. AFAIK it means flower, the non-cauli kind. I'm glad he wasn't a girl because I was getting stressed out about the different pronunciations and possibly inflicting some sort of identity crisis. If and when we have another and if it's a girl we'll have to re-evaluate.

I also liked Leila, but we couldn't use it because my sister's name is Ayla and that would have been too close.

KUP on the selection process!

Jenn, your wrap looks like it takes so much skill.

People always say this - it looks more complicated than it is. Honestly, I can't even properly wrap a christmas present, so if I can do it anyone can. It did take some practice and it was intimidating at first, but it was worth learning for us because Adam loves it.

Hey ladies, haven't popped in here all that much, things have been kinda crazy for me lately.

I'm almost 37 weeks now, something like 24 days to go. All is well, thank God, but I'm starting to get extra crazy about being afraid of the actual birthing process, lol.

Did a scan for size 2 weeks ago this Wed and he's already 6 lbs!

So if he is gaining weight properly hes prob right around 7lbs now! Sounds like you will have a healthy 8lb'er! Enjoy these last few weeks! Your almost there

Zahra, well idk thats what my inlaws call cauliflower. lol. I too would be worried about the pronunciation. I asked Sof today if we are gonna name the baby Laila and he said he didnt know. lol. I mentioned that Ive spelled it a million ways but I would like to spell it Laila to be consistent with the "ai" like in Zaid, and he said "yea thats a good idea" i know he likes the name he just hates doing things without his familys approval.

I cant wait for my double check on Friday. Once I have a 2nd confirmation of girl parts I plan to start shopping. Having a baby of the opposite gender leaves me with alot of stuff to buy. Thankfully most of our big stuff is gender neutral. She will be sporting a green Chicco travel system but thats ok. Ill just make sure to have bows in her hair all the time cause theres NOTHING worse then the people who are always call he, she, and she, he.

@ Kelly: congratz on the little girl! Usually the grandparents go nuts over buying stuff... My MIL is hoping so much for a girl, she already bought about 15 outfits, and I'm pretty sure we are having a boy though. Oh well ;)

I have the hardest time finding a boy name, which sort of is a "sign" to me that it is a boy. Jona was without name for a couple hours... I like some names, but they do not work in both languages, which is what we want though. Hubbie loves Alexander, but my cousin's name is Alexander, and my sister is Alexandra, so I find it not okay to use a family name really, especially if the name-bearers are still alive.... Arrgh it will take me forever to find a good name. And if it's not Alex, hubbie would love Jack, but I don't like that at all!

I dunno if I mentioned this here, but as far as a name was concerned, we had a hard time as well. We're naming him Nicholas Cedric....Nicholas just cos we liked it...he once suggested 'Nick' but he claims I said no, I personally don't remember that. Then the next time, it was Father's Day, and we were all sitting around the table (us and my parents), and they were drinking a bottle of wine with the word 'Nicholas' in there...my dad goes 'what about Nicholas?' and I'm like 'hey I love it!' I asked the man what he thought, and he was like 'I suggested that a month ago'

The Cedric thing...we wanted something that would honor both of our fathers....Mine is named Edward, his is named Rick. Ed, Rick = Cedric.

I cant beleive you are this close. I feel like it was like a month ago you said you were pregnant.

and yeah, I totally relate to the last minute fear of delivery. its like sitting at the top of a giant roller coaster hill and amd staring down the track. LOL and I felt that way with both my kids!
