@ Kelly: I'm glad everything is fine... We're still nauseous here, while Mr. Jona tried to play Mario Kart Wii. I find that pretty hilarious (it's a harmless game after all) and of course he doesn't get the steering but keeps trying. It looks pretty hilarious. :) But he mostly enjoys his sandbox and pool in the backyard.... We also had the Blue Angels in town today and he mostly liked it, but sometimes it got reallllly loud and he was scared. Even I wanted to cover my ears!

I'm going to book my flight soon, hubbie has to check whether he can take half days off early on in his new position (he just advanced today basically). That would be neat so I can book a non-weekend flight which is much cheaper. I can't wait to stuff myself silly with all the foods back home, cause I don't have to cook and Oma really wants to stuff our faces anyways. Maybe Jona will be willing to try something new when he sees his cousins eating like crazy (they are great eaters!). He is still very cautious about foods...

@ Joyce: Well the bassinet thing is really up to you, I know most people around here never had it. Since you use it for such a short time though, check out craigslist or once upon a child... Buying it new is sort of like throwing money out of the window ;) I'm gonna get my cosleeper from Denver craigslist, they offer them galore there at great prices and fairly new. With breastfeeding the best accessory you can get is a great lactation consultant (I prefer the IBCLC type). They helped me through problems in the beginning and they are just great! Apart from that you just need some nursing bras (even Target has them) and a cool pack and nipple cream for the beginning (Lansinoh is fine I think)... Pump and stuff can be bought later... And the diapers... The Grovias are excellent, but rather pricey - but still cheaper than 2 years or more of buying disposables (even when you factor in water and electricity).... There are so many cute and wonderful diapers out there, it's crazy! We started with prefolds and covers which is rather inexpensive and then upgraded to pocket diapers (they are as easy as the disposable diapers)... We opted for the not so expensive versions and I think they are just as good as Bumgenius or Happy Heinys (I have a couple of expensive specimens, so I dare to compare). Hubbie has no issues with them and neither does anyone who ever changed him... Most people find them pretty cute and adorable (cute colors and prints!).... Oh well I wrote a book. Sorry ;P

One of my sweetdollbaby diapers broke today. I washed them and dried them and in one the PUL came off the fabric...argh. It looked like ceran wrap :). I hope we'll be out of diapers soon. I can't stand changing and washing dipes no more. I hardly cloth diaper at all anymore. Allie is in a disposable one in the mornings, cloth for her nap and diaper free (when we're home) in the afternoon. So that makes maybe one or two clothies a day and I store them forever until I wash them (forever meaning about 5 days in the pail). Anywho, I greatly enjoyed cloth diapering. It's even more fun when it's still breasfeeding poo that goes in them cause it's easy to wash out LOL. I loved trying all the different kind of diapers but always went back to prefolds and covers. It seems easiest to me, the diapers are less bulky and the covers hold everything in.

anywho...enough about that. I never had a cosleeper. We had the pack n play next to our bed or baby slept with us most of the time in the beginning for easier ####### access.

One cute thing. When allie wants to nurse in the evening (she still nurses about twice a day) I put her in our bed and she goes "boobie tiiiime" :P .

LMAO! Thats funny!

I wish we were close to potty training Ev! Zaid has 0 interest pooping in the potty. Im not rushing it. He is at daycare for 99% of his poops so at least I dont have to deal with that. lol!

Zaid is definitly understanding there will be a new baby next year. He always asks me "this babys room?" and points to the spare room and 30 times a day comes over to me and says "Hi Baby I love you" and waves to my belly. We havent talked to him directly about it at all but I guess hes picked up on conversations. Smart Boy!

We have decided on names. Laith for a boy and Leyla or Leena for a girl. DH really wanted Salma for a girl but I won! lol. As soon as I find out the gender the end of August we will probably get cracking on the shopping. I need a new travel system, swing, crib and changing table, and clothes if it turns out to be a girl.

I posted this on FB but I thought it was hysterical.

I went to wake Zaid up yesterday and I turned on the light. I asked him if he wanted juice and he says yes to that every morning, well yesterday he looked over at me with his eyes closed and said "no mommy I want the lights off" lol. My baby grew up too fast. Speaking in sentences came way too soon. I have a little man on my hands. I love every minute of it but am looking forward to having a baby in the house again

LOVE those names. I can't wait for you to find out what you're having.

Allie talk in scentences too. It surprises me every day how much faster she is in talking than Adam. It's crazy. I can't really recall anything in particular but she says things like "Mama, I wanna sing too" :) or "Damn it" (thanks to my husband's potty mouth) or "I wanna hold it" "Where'd Adam go?". Still short scentences but I mean, she's not even two yet (not for another two weeks at least LOL).

I don't know if I told y'all here but Allie will be getting her second set of tubes in her ears on Monday. I saw one tube falling out a while back and about a week after that she had another ear infection (# 11!!!). Got a referral for the ENT immediately and asked if it made sense to put tubes in again (he confirmed that they were both out and she had fluid in both ears). I don't want her to suffer through more infections (I had one the other day and it hurt like hell) so she'll be having surgery on Monday early in the morning.

Hope all goes well with Allies surgery. I know its pretty routine but im sure its scary seeing your baby be put under.

Sounds like Allie is a good talker. Everyone told me that boys talk later but Zaid just started speaking sentences out of no where right around his 2nd birthday. He understands concepts like over and under and cold/hot etc and knows all his colors and counts to 15. I wish I could take credit but I know its the babysitter who is reaaally working with him. Either way, Im definitly proud!

@ Joyce - We had a pack'n'play with a bassinet feature .. that worked well for us. We kept Declan in it in our room. After he outgrew the bassinet feature, we still used the pack n play for traveling.

@ Eveline - Awww, poor Allie. Keep us posted.

@ Kel - LOVE the names!!!

I am trying so hard now to lose weight and really get healthy before trying for another baby. Hoping to go off BC in a few months and start trying.

Ben is very good about the potty but he doesn't like to go poop on it anymore. We had a few really nasty accidents where he pooped in his underwear or swimshorts. I almost just threw them away, but of all people hubby stepped up and hosed them down and then put them in the washer. :luv: He is being a clown lately he imitates people and says stuff like "what's up guys, my name is CHUUUCK" then he laughs and says "my father said that" He tells me I'm a good boy for finishing my plate and stuff. haha.

Kel: I love the names, Leyla is my favorite! We like Eli for a boy (hubby's pick) and Abby (Abigail) for a girl, but we are probably going to change that completely. :P I am not sick at all anymore, I vomited in a trash can outside of stop&shop 2 weeks ago (something smelled gross and I just couldn't help it)... how embarrassing. haha. But now thank God if it wouldn't be for the weight gain I wouldn't even know I was pregnant.

We had a bassinet for the first 3 or 4 months, then he was way too big for it, but I liked it because it was easy to get him out of it and small enough to not take up a lot of space. We rolled it right up to our bed.

Evi: good luck for Allies surgery!

As for baby items...I always say a Boppy Pillow and the wipes warmer were probably the two most crucial items we had. We used a small crib that had been used by 17 members of my family that was small and on wheels for when the twins were newborn. It was by my side of the bed at night and I rolled it into our living room during the day. It was great. I used it until they were about 2 months old when I transitioned them to their cribs.

Ok...we are back from our VT vacation. I got back to crappy internet at home and finally got the new modem today and installed it. Travelling with twin 18 month olds is oh so much fun when you have a 7 hour delay on the way up and a 2 hour delay on the way back. It was an experience, that is for sure. At least Jet Blue refunded me all of one of the fares and part of the other. So...I have a $200 JetBlue credit to use in the next year.

We got back to some sort of intestinal virus that has passed from Zak on to Hana now. What miserableness!

Joyce - I didnt have a bassinet for my first and I did for the 2nd and I loved it. Actually a Moses basket would be cool too, something that you can tote around the house with you. they spend so much time sleeping those first few weeks and they'll usually sleep through anything, so I just brought Amirah around room to room with me as she slept and I did stuff.

I agree with TNH - I would never have bought a wipe warmer but someone gave me one and I loved it.

oh, and Congrats to all the newly pregnant :)

Kelly, I really wanted to name my daughter Leyla, or Layla, but it was already in use by a close relative - bummer. I love it though, I would love to see you have a little Leyla!

OK, this is all good information! It seems that the pack & play (is "playpen" an outdated term now?)/bassinet combo might be a good approach. Also, a swing is coming highly recommended.

I hope the sick kiddos are better! The very thought of a sick kid/baby is giving me fits of anxiety.
