Ive actually lost 8lbs the past 3 weeks. I am overweight so its easier to lose weight, but I just have no appetite on top of the vomiting. We will see what the doctor says about it at my next appointment.

Wow, I'm 8 weeks already! In my experience they don't care much... With Jona I lost 7 pounds in the first trimester (I went down to 104 or 105 and they weren't worried), and so far I have lost 5 pounds. I don't want to weigh myself so I don't stress myself out even further! I'm drinking the teas now and it seems to help, but I nearly puked out my prenatals this morning. I'm making mostly "tasteless" food, aka skipping spices and strong flavors, and settle with purred soups (luckily Jona will eat those!!!) and stuff like polenta with tomato sauce and ground beef (just using the stuff from Wholefoods, it is very mildly flavored).

I soooo hope we all will be freed from nausea soon, it's not fun!

Anna, one thing that helped me tremendously was to take all supplements at nighttime that way I was never sick from them.

oh wow, sorry you are so sick! I got a little nauseous smelling scrambled eggs this morning and nail polish remover. ewww. But I'm really not a puker, I try to hold it back as long as I can. I'm not really sure how far along I am. my last cycles have been a little screwed up, but my guess is 5-6 weeks. So I could end up with the morning sickness any time now. I am the exact opposite, I think I have gained about 1000lbs in the last week, haha. And I acctually eat less than the usual. I never had weight issues in my life, I'm neither overweight nor underweight but now I am hardly fitting in my pants. I startd to run in the am before hubby goes to work. I really want to be as fit as possible and hopefully not go completely overboard with the weight gain.

Hi everyone!

I'm 16 weeks and still on zofran (I got it about a month ago). It helps if I take it before I get out of bed--usually. I'm really hoping that the morning sickness dies down soon. Everyone told me to hang on until 12 weeks, and I still feel sick everyday. I've lost about 8 lbs, but I've been holding steady for the couple weeks and not losing anymore.

I always felt bad for my mom - she didn't have morning sickness, she had evening sickness. She used to say that morning sickness was easy because at least you didn't have to see food if you didn't want to and she could tell my dad to buy breakfast out...but evening sickness was a killer because you would have to come home and fix your husband dinner. She said just the thought of making any type of meal made her ill. I asked her what did she do - she was like: "Stacie, it was the 70s. I just had to make my way through it. At that time, you just didn't tell your husband to make his own meal."

I don't know what doctor called it morning sickness, it's friggin all day sickness, at least for me! My mom had it with all pregnancies all day long for about 6 months, my SIL had it for 6 months with her second daughter too. She was on Zofran. I'm trying to hang in there for as long as I can. Drinking EmergenC sort of helps... And I can eat dairy products whenever I feel sick, so I spike it with protein powder... One has to get those calories somehow....

Uhhh and the prenatal, what happened: you know when you want to swallow it and it gets stuck on your tongue? It was long enough for all the ugly flavors to unfold on my tongue which totally left me heaving over the kitchen sink (everything else was too far away!!!). Baeehhh. I wish there were liquid prenatals for such occasions.

@ chnst: So if you don't know your dates, an early ultrasound should pinpoint baby's age pretty accurately - when's your appointment?

Anna: my appointment is July 12. I am really excited. I am pretty sure of the date we conceived the baby, although mathematically it doesn't make sense with a typical 28 day cycle. But with Ben being in the hospital and graduation there really was only that ONE day we got around to "making" a baby. But we will see, I could be wrong. If I go by looks, I think I am about 20 weeks along. Definitely a bump. haha.

Stef, I have a bump too. My belly is really pushed out above my belly button, as weird as that is considering my uterus is down low. IDK. Im excited to see the doc again. My 2nd appt is on the 15th. :)

My next appointment is on the 16th... Then I will decide whether I stick with them or change to Denver... A little anxious about that!

@ chnst: I have never had a 28 day cycle, nor do I know anyone who ever did.... The practice wanted to calculate by last menstrual date, but that's way off since I ovulate late in my cycle, and I happened to know, lol, thanks to charting... With Jona I didn't chart, but they totally had to adjust the due date after the ultrasound as LMP put me one week earlier than the ultrasound...

Anna: with Ben I had perfect 28 day cycles and the due date was pretty accurate from day one, but ever since I stopped birth control its all out of whack. I never even thought I could get pregnant last month because we were trying for so long and it didn't work and then it was kind of late in the cycle.

wow I hope you all feel better soon! By the way- we let Ben sleep in our bed this week and he slept a lot better for the most part, except that he is still crawling around all night. Last night he woke up about 8 times again, but for the most part of this week he slept about 6 hour stretches. yay. I guess as long as we all get some sleep, I can live with that. I just don't want this to continue until he goes to school... I hope I can find a job where I work nights, and have Ben in daycare during the day so I can sleep, haha.
