Hey guys, so I forgot to mention that I had my 3-hour glucose test yesterday, which pretty much sucked  This is going to be a whingy post, so if you're not in the best mood, skip it! lol

So, back to the test.... I have very tiny veins which roll too, so it's rather hard sometimes to get blood from me. Add to that, my fear of needles (back in the day of my brain and spinal surgery, I was so sick, and every vein was collapsing at some point, I even had to have IVs placed in my neck, in my feet, in my hands...it was awful! Anyways, I digress).... but my arms are black and blue today, and they both hurt.

My appt was for 730am, which was good because it's a fasting test as you all know. I was hoping the tech could just put a port in, and draw from that every hour, but they said no. So I had to be jabbed the four times, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but it wasn't the best either  Then that stuff you have to drink was like liquid orangy sugar sludge to me, the whole time I was there, I was struggling to keep it down. I was really close to being sick, but I fought it because I felt if I didn't, and I got sick, I'd have to redo the test. And let's not get into the heartburn!

The place was packed with people, and the waiting room at times was full. And some peeps were rude enough to allow me to stand! I'm not talkin other preggos, or the elderly...but middle aged peeps with no apparent disability...none of them got up for me. Which is kinda by-the-by anyways, because no one owes me anything, but I wouldn't let a 6 mos preggo lady stand for 30 mins while I sat in a chair. I actually even gave up my chair twice to some really elderly people, because they needed it more than I did.

Oh, I 'failed' the 1 hour gluc test by 1 point. My level was 130. Which technically, I passed, but the high risk Drs at Winnie Palmer have a new cutoff of 129

Hopefully, it went well though!

Hi ladies!

Congratz to the new expected mommies! such a great news :)

I'm so done being pregnant.. My baby dropped like 3-4 weeks ago and his head has been pushing my pelvic. It hurts to stand up and the first few steps are very hard to take, the pain wont go away but it gets a bit better after the first few steps. I hardly get a good sleep anymore (and wont after the baby comes) and I'm sooo heavy and fat I'm not happy about myself crying.gif And my baby kicks hurt my ribs so bad.. I have to tell him to be gentle with mommy. my whole belly move when he hiccups (like now) which is kinda funny but if it doesn’t stop in a few minutes I get nauseated. ahh I wish he comes really soon!!!

Am I whiny or what lol I'm not planning on doing any natural induction or anything.. I just talk to him and tell him he needs to come out quickly and pain free hehe blush.gif

Anya -- you are in the home stretch! You can make it!

OMG...I remember the pain lifting my leg to get into the shower and how I would cry for two minutes before I would get out. My OB was pretty sure Zak was pushing on my sciatic nerve.

I am officially on summer vacation now. Yay! Two months to spend at home with the babies! We have outings planned with friends and my mom and I are taking the twins up to Vermont to visit family in July. So...we'll see how 18 month olds do as lap infants. :(

Well, I have a sucky update :( I failed my 3 hr gluc test. Prolly about 10 mins or so after I wrote that last post, my dr's office called, and asked me to come in :( I was like 'uh oh'. turns out I failed 2 of the 4 tests...the fasting one and the 3rd hour one were great, numbers well below the cutoff. The 1st and 2nd hour ones, not so good. They were each 20 pts above normal. So now I'm termed as having gestational diabetes, and I have to make an appt with a nutritionist because they feel my numbers are ok enough to just control it with diet. I've already had to go get all the diabetic supplies...testing kit, strips, lancets, etc. I have to test twice a day and write it down, I have to go get these other blood tests, and as already mentioned, the nutritionist.

The testing twice a day...once when I wake up (needs to be below 100) and 1 hr after eating (under 140). I tested this morning, and got 89 for the fasting one, and 114 for an hour after eating, so honestly...I really don't know ####### is going on. But I suppose things could be worse. Please pray for me that this all goes ok and doesn't affect the baby though. (L)

Susy@ You don't need to diet, BREASTFEDDING DOES THE TRICK!!!!

I don't know what is going to happen when I decide to stop bf, Sofia is too atach to the bobbies, she is obssesed with them, sometimes we are in the middle of the street and she starts screaming "tetaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, tetaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" it's embarrasing and funny too  ,she cannot see me changing 'cause she will want and when I tell her thta the bobbie went to Peru she gets sad and starts crying, poor baby

Vi ~ I really do need to diet, I know breastfeeding burns calories but apart from that I'm overweight to begin with. I'm not dieting like crazy dieting, but just watching how much calories/fat I eat and eating mostly healthy stuff.

Luis thinks I should stop breastfeeding before Anna gets like that. He says that in Peru his sister had the same problem that you have with his nephew and that it was so hard for her to stop breastfeeding. It's not like the bottle, you can get rid of it or hide it... your boobs are always there

I think you and the baby are gonna be just fine (F) I know some friends of mine had GD and they had to do the same thing you're doing. It's hard and annoying with all the testing & stuff but the doc should closely monitor you. I had a high risk pregnancy for low amniotic fluid so I was in the doctor's office 2x a week and I know it's never fun to get bad news during a pregnancy. Feel better (L)

oh, pregnancy with twins... wasn't it interesting? One was kicking me in the ribs while the other one was kicking me in the crotch. Good times.

Oh yeah. You are a brave woman to dare to get pregnant again after twins. We were sooooooooo worried about the possibility of going through a twin pregnancy again that we went the sterilization route. We love Hana and Zak, but couldn't imagine going through that roller coaster again (and from everything I read, after once having twins your odds are slightly greater than 1 in 20 of having them again).

Zak is obsessed with his daddy right now. Hicham was walking back and forth in the livingroom yesterday and Zak kept following him and mimicking him. It was hilarious!

Lisa, Just read your post. Can totally relate about the veins. MIne are tiny and roll too. I first found this out back in high school when I had a really bad case of mono and the doc kept sending me for bloodwork to try to figure out why I was so sick. I've had people line up to take a shot at my veins and see if they could get blood from it.

Thinking of you about the gestational diabetes too ....

 Not confirmed by doc yet but 4 ept's later I think im about 5 weeks along!

for anyone on my facebook...shhhhhhhhhh I havent told family yet

YEAH! congrats!!! I'm so happy for you! And a little sad bc we haven't had any luck yet. We are trying to keep Ben alive right now... I can't even tell you what an ordeal this last week has been. He is doing a lot better today. No more IV's/feeding tubes and he is drinking milk. I think I am now 300% more of a paranoid mother than I was ever before.

autum: he is a lot better. He has a really bad viral infection, mostly in his face and mouth. The worst thing is the fever and the pain, we couldn't get the fever down, he is now a steady 100.3 which is the lowest in 1 week. They were worried that it could get to his brain. But he is doing better!! Just looks like he lost some weight. I was freaking out the last 2 days because he was just laying there staring at the ceiling no matter what we did he was so lethargic and wouldn't move or look up or play/read books. And seeing him in so much pain just killed me. Today is the first day that he is drinking somethnig in a week.

Stef, that breaks my heart reading it. Poor Ben! Im glad to hear he drank some milk today. How much longer do you think he will stay in the hospital? Hope things keep going up from hear and he is better in no time.

As for me, Im excited to see the doctor the 15th and just confirm everything is ok. Im feeling super nauseaus the past few days and definitly feeling pregnant. Its weird to have these symptoms so early. i didnt feel any different with Zaid til 9-10 weeks along.
