Happy Birthday Zaid!!! He is so cutteee!

I have to take Eman to the Otolaryngologist(had to look it up),AKA Ear, throat nose doctor. Lately, anytime he hears a noise that seems normal to everyone else, he covers his left ear. The other day I noticed that he was covering it while chewing something crunchy. He has had problems with loud noises in the past but nothing to this extent.

Happy Birthdays to Zaid and Ben! Declan is next!!!

Hope Eman is okay. Keep us posted.

So, on my new quest to find outdoor toys for Declan, I hit some tag sales this morning. Didn't find any outdoor toys but I was so excited that I found a Mickey Mouse clubhouse CD player (Declan is obsessed with Mickey Mouse clubhouse lately). So, I get home and I called my mom to tell her about my find. She then told me she had ALREADY bought Declan a brand new one and left it in the guest bedroom last time she visited, so it would be here for Declan's birthday. Same exact thing :bonk: So much for my great find!

So Ben had his 2nd birthday party yesterday, it was so much fun!! He loved "openin pessents" and singing happy birthday over and over, it was such a good time.

What is wrong with the new Pampers cruisers? The link was expired. Can u post it again? We have been using them without problems and just bought another 3 huge boxes.

It's not Pampers Cruisers nor BabyDry, it is the new version, DryMax. Here is another link: http://consumerist.com/2010/04/new-dry-max-pampers-causing-rash-burns-sores-boils.html

yep that's the "new" pampers cruisers, we had them for about a month now and no problem. They fit better than any other diaper and seem more comfortable... They are much thinner than the old cruisers. I don't know how many people have had this problem and if it was really caused by the diaper.

I hope that this is just another hysteria and nothing serious. If this is true I may switch back to 7th generation although they just don't fit him right anymore. Ha, it's going to be interesting how long it will take until there will be a mom who will blame the diapers for her kid's autism.

I don't know what causes the rashes, I just passed the info on in case someone has the issue to call Pampers... We don't use them, so I wouldn't know. We use cloth diapers and 7th Generation for traveling. I don't think those moms are crazy, there were many reports of kids who reacted, probably with sensitive skin, a new chemical that just doesn't work for all kids. I definitely see less rashes with cloth diapers in our kid.

Stef, We use regular Huggies and I like them. Zaid has only had one rash (and it was from sand in his butt from the sandbox not the diaper). My twin sisters little guy was using the new diapers and has burns on his little butt. She switched to Huggies and the rash has cleared up significantly in 2 days.

I tried 7th generation and they just didnt seem to hold anything in them. I wish they would make a "good" quality organic diaper.

Glad to hear Ben had a funtime! You MUST get some pics up!!

yeah I guess if Ben would break out like that and I would suspect it's the diaper then I'd want to know. Ben never had a diaper rash in his life, so I guess he is probably not very sensitive to whatever they put into these diapers.

Kelly: haha from sand in his diaper, so funny. Ben was running around naked all day today and went to the potty all by himself, I am hoping that we don't have to worry about the diapering too much longer. It sounds crazy but he would probably be potty trained by now but with all the driving every week (I have 3.5 hours to school and back every week, and 1 hour to classes) it would be a nightmare to stop every time he has to pee.

So that's another reason I can't wait for summer.

I liked the 7th generation until he started walking and crawling and then they would just not stay on him. We then went on to pampers and just stuck with the cruisers and never had a problem. I may check out huggies, but we have so many pampers left. I think with the next baby I will give the cloth diapers a try -the ones that look just like the disposables. I need it to be as simple as possible.

I will post pics soon, have to get them all organized. I think I took 1000 pictures, it was such a nice day!

I tried the new "Cruisers" because they advertised them as even drier than Baby Dry and thinner. I totally disagree. I don't think there was any difference in "dry-ness" and that the baby dry were thinner. I hate the outside of the Cruisers. We have stuck with BabyDry from early on because Hana got contact dermatitis from a couple of generic diapers and we had to even use a steroid creme to help her. With twins, too, Baby Dry gives you at least 1.5 times the number of diapers per box as Cruisers. It is a little more affordable. (I always shop sales and look at numbers in boxes, etc. My husband thinks I am insane.)

We broke down today and filled Hana's prescription for antibiotics. She has had a bad upper respiratory infection and an ear infection. We took her to the pediatrician on Thursday and he gave us a script for amoxicillin but told us to wait and see how she does. He said if in a couple of days she was still having issues to fill it and to give her all of it. Well, we have dealt with a weekend of her not wanting to sleep because she has such thick mucus it chokes her. We have given them vapor baths, put on Vicks Baby Rub, and ran a vaporizer with Vicks for NIGHTS with no help. She is even not wanting to eat because she can't chew and breathe at the same time. I really believe she has pretty bad sinus infection because Zak has the same cold and just has a clear runny nose and is not all that bad. :( Sick babies are just tough to deal with. :(

Twila: If in a week from starting the antibiotics Hanna breaks out in a rash all over her body but most likely on her back and face then it's a drug reaction. Both my kids had it from amoxicillin. Allie didn't have it until just recently and she's never had issues with it before but Adam had it REALLY bad the first time he got it. His cheeks were read to where it looked like we slapped him repeatedly and there for a second I thought it was hand-foot-mouth disease but it turns out, it was 'only' a drug reaction. Allie's was a lot milder but also started out looking like a heatrash but not getting better after bathing or taking clothes off. Hope your little girl feels better soon.

 That's hilarious! I realize that autism is no laughing matter, but sometimes, I just wish that people might own up to the fact that maybe, just maybe, they didn't lead a healthy lifestyle or their spouse didn't, and that somewhere the lines got crossed and the child was born with autism.

Twila: aww hope she feels better soon. Ben is on day 8 of amocicillin today. He has been so sick, he couldn't breathe/sleep/eat at all last week, we took him to urgent care on sunday (he always has perfect timing to get sick on the weekend) and top of that he had strep throat and his very first ear infection. The breathing was so scary and he had to get steroid shots again and oral prednisone and it still took days to get better. I found that cool mist helps much better at night than a vaporizer and warm mist.
