Congratulations Anna and what a wonderful story!

I am going back to OB on Wednesday for my PP checkup. I think I am OK now albeit a little sore still. Going to probe my OB as to why I wasn't catheter-ed considering the amount of fluids I was pumped full of which led to the distended bladder and excruciating kidney/back pain during the later stages of my labor :(

wow Anna glad everything went great, I can't imagine walking through a store in labor, haha! Kudos! Hope you get some rest after all this driving and hotelstays etc

Joyce: I totally agree, the sooner you start the daycare the easier it will be. Ben started around 17 months and it was a lot harder in the beginning because he was in the attachment phase, when he only wanted to hide behind my legs. Thank God the ladies there were super nice, and the teacher-child ratio was 1:2 so someone was always holding him and doing special stuff with him. He went part time too and in retrospect it really paid off, he learned so much and he still misses his friends there now. I am hoping to find a good pre-school in our new neighborhood.

As for the pregnancy- almost 36 weeks! I had my GBS test today, and I am 1cm dilated. woohoo. not much effaced. But Baby is still kinda transverse, so she said they would try an external version next week if he hasn't changed. I'm hoping to deliver this baby around 38-39 weeks bc that would be most convenient with my schedule. :innocent: She is leaving things open with the c-section, the Doc is pretty confident that I may be able to push this baby out within 10 - 30 minutes (unless its a 10lb-er) So I'm hoping she's right and therefore my chances to destory my pelvis are supposed to be much slimmer this time..

Kavi turned 3 yesterday! It feels like his 1st birthday wasn't very long ago!

Here's a video of him, driving his birthday present!

I thought it was too soon to buy him a gift like this, but my husband was really into it. And Kavi loved looking at the power wheels in the stores. One of his favorite things has been cars/vehicles, since before he could start saying words. So recently Suj asked Kavi which one he liked the most and he kept pointing to this one. He was first really happy that it was at his own backyard, then was scared to drive it for the first few minutes, but he slowly got the hang of it.

Thanks guys for all the nice things you wrote! :) She is eating well now, every 2-3 hours and my milk came in too, so I am somewhat at ease. The ped declared her perfectly healthy, no more fluid in the lungs and her initial weight loss isn't bad either. Now that she eats a lot, we can tell by her output that she's getting enough, huh. That's always such a concern!

I'm doing pretty good, the afterpains are mere cramps now, just hte first night was hell painwise, despite 800mg of Motrin. But my uterus shrank back to super small size according to the midwives, so that's why I had those strong cramps, but it pays off with minimal bleeding and feeling great now! I just did not anticipate those afterpains to be so intense. Really, a warning to the second time moms, it can be intense, but won't last long. Take that Motrin asap after birth...

@ kelly: Maybe try my protocol to get Salma out, lol. ;) I took two evening primrose oil pills on Saturday of 1000mg each (noon and at night), ate some tomato-basil-mozzarella panini and watched "In Bruges", which was quite hilarious, so something funny maybe. Throw in some marital relations and boom labor is going.... Maybe Denny's for breakfast? But honestly, the membrane sweep at the birthing center before we went out to eat must have done it. She put evening primrose oil on her gloves to spread it out in the cervix... And she was very gentle, it wasn't painful, but she did it for 2 minutes. They said a quick sweep doesn't do much, but a slow, prolonged sweeping can help and I swear it did it. Good luck!

@ Steffi: I hope he turns by himself, but otherwise an inversion is a good thing to try. Fingers crossed for a GBS negative... I was so glad I was negative, no IV and no antibiotics for me then in labor. I found it amazing how easy I can move around in the room and birth tub with no monitors or IV (they checked periodically with a handheld doppler).
