Oh no I hope everyone will feel better soon, that sounds awful! Jona only had diarrhea once when he was teething and threw up once with the croup... Stomach bugs have not been going around luckily.

I'm 34 weeks today and baby dropped... I have so much pressure and pain on my cervix, it's like a painful bowling ball in there. She's been head down forever and won't budge luckily, so far, but Jona was like that too. I'll see a chiro in the next week for some adjustments (yes! my hips and back need it big time!), a prenatal massage at the local spa palace and then I guess time for baby... I can barely sleep at night, it's painful to move and I have to sleep on my sides which I hate! I don't remember it being this hard with Jona...

My sides are reallly killing me too Anna. I do remember it being this bad with Zaid though (the hips hurting part) My stomach is ALOT smaller this time around so I think that has worked to my advantage. Im super bummed the baby is transverse right now. Im praying she turns head down in the next week or two. I dont even wanna talk the possibility of a section right now with my OB. Thursday should be able to shed some light on the situation. Im assuming if shes real big, she probably isnt gonna budge...we shall see.

@ kelly: Oh I hear a lot that second and later babies turn later into position. Mine just like to put their big heads on my cervix... The website http://www.spinningbabies.com/ is recommended very often for transverse or breech situations, as well as seeing a chiro who knows the Webster technique... I don't know about transverse, but my friend had a breech baby and an external version at 38 weeks which turned her daughter successfully... Maybe an idea?

Kel: wait and see. I am not stressing it yet. My OB does external versions with some patients. Hopefully I can figure it out with her. I really hate the atmosphere in the OR and the freezing cold in there but I am kind of preparing myself mentally for a section... This one is a big boy, being transverse and my pelvic issues, IDK with all that going on I may be headed in that direction. Having the surgery doesn't scare me at all, just for some reason the atomosphere freaks me out, I don't even like to work in there much. I am also getting really nervous about giving birth where I work I love everyone there but it's still very awkward to be in that situation...

So far I have only seen the midwife, I still haven't had a chance yet to see either of the 2 OB's in that practice. I hope they can give me an idea what the plan of action will be. I can't believe I am almost 32 weeks. I'm a little sad because I am pretty sure this is my last pregnancy. It went by so fast and I feel so unprepared! I have to get the room ready soon!

Did you guys start the bi-weekly visits yet?

Oh man, I think Ben has the stomach bug too! He's had diarrhea the past 2 days but I thought it was from all the junk he's been eating for christmas. But he puked earlier and he is having stomach cramps now. That's what I get for making fun of you Evi. :bonk:

Holy Cow those stomach bugs seem to be everywhere... Please please please not here, I can barely walk, how would I deal with that now?!

@ Steffi: I feel so unprepared too... I'm not sure if it is the last pregnancy, if Dh doesn't get better at pregnant lady support, it will be the last one, hahaha. And if they really get worse each time I cannot imagine how terrible it would be next time....

I have never been to an OR, I can only imagine from TV. Why do they keep it cold there??? Wouldn't 70 degrees or so be more comfy?

I'm seeing the midwives every 5 weeks and now had a 4 week break, so will see them again at 36 weeks and then bi-weekly... We agreed to spacing the appointments out since I live so far away. But I have their cell numbers and can call whenever I need something.... I sort of think there will be no 38 week appointment, but a birth. Lol.

Chnst: I jinxed y'all :). I'm actually a whole lot better. I had some cramps this morning and the 'runs' but ever since I slept I haven't had any issues no more. I really honestly believe that if you just keep going for as long as you feel somewhat ok it won't hit you as hard. My husband for example had plenty of time to 'suffer' and feel sorry for himself so the bug just took over and he's miserable (but getting better). Oh well, I'm so friggin over washing bedsheets and blankets. I don't know how often I washed clothes and stuff this weekend but my bottle of detergent is empty and there was still plenty left when I checked a few days ago.

The temp at the OR when I had Adam was 70 degrees and it felt nice and warm for some reason. I was laying there, thinking "why would they keep it so warm in here" and just figured that they didn't want the babies to be cold LOL.

We went to the park this afternoon to try out the new Radio Flyer Scooters and I must say the kids did pretty good. Allie still hasn't figured it out yet but Adam just took to it and rolled right off into the sunset :). I gotta post some pics whenever I have them on Photobucket.

our OR is scary and freezing, they keep it below 60 I swear! They reason that it's better to keep everything aseptic. Heat=bacterial spread. They have a radiant warmer in there for the baby but it's not fired up until mommy is laying on the table, shivering her butt off.

Then they dump so much iv fluid in you which cannot be warmed either to add to your misery. They tried making it "homey" by painting the walls baby blue and adding some real wise quotes around the ceiling but it would probably make me even more crazy.

Yeah I agree with you, ever since having Ben I had no choice but to keep going when we all got sick and it makes you feel less miserable than just laying in bed feeling sorry for yourself. Last Thanksgiving when I got the stomach bug, I had to call hubby to come home from work because I couldn't take care of Ben. About 2 hours after he got home, he started vomiting and I had to get up from my death bed and take care of all of us...

I think it helped me to get over it faster, but then again, some men are just babies as soon as they get a runny nose. :P:devil:

I see the point about bacteria, but they could at least provide a heated underpad for mom... I hate cold! I would be shivering like crazy at such temperatures. I already hated IV fluids, and I have had my fair share the past two years... Each time I start puking I won't stop and need IV fluids. Most places don't warm the fluids up and I end up shaking terribly. Two out of 4 places that I had my IVs warmed the fluids up and brought me blankets...

OMG men are the worst sick people ever. I really have been living off my last bits and pieces these past months, and hubbie got sick once, he had a slight stomach bug and a slight fever (we're talking about 100 degress or so here). He wouldn't move out of bed, and moan in pain each time he moved, be grumpy and not even consider to get up. I had to go to the frigging ER a week earlier for not stopping spitting up bile, was pumped full of IV fluids and Zofran and once I came back he expected me to just watch Jona and cook since he had to study. He didn't do anything this pregnancy to help me out despite me feeling like #######. He cannot deal at all with me feeling sick, but expects the royal treatment when sick. He just doesn't get it. In his family, sickness is considered weakness and that's why I get to hear from his grandma annoying stuff. She already frowns that I expect hubbie to do stuff around the house, which he usually does, but school and work freaked him out. It's better now in the break and now that he understood how social sciences work... He is trying to make it up to me now... But I doubt I ever want to pregnant again feeling so horrible without potential support... I mean we are talking no massages, nobody making food or doing laundry for me, hubbie being gone 80% of the time... NO family around to help out ever. I truly dislike the military life and CANNOT wait to get out asap. At least hubbie agrees! My and his sister live close to family and whenever someone is sick, MIL or my mom come over and help, they get help all the time... My other sister in Shanghai has a maid/nanny 5 days a week. I cannot imagine how much time one must have with so much help around! I do think though that people are supposed to live around family for help, that's how it always as been, and being far away makes everything far more complicated. You just don't get to be sick. You don't get to rest. Baeh.

Aww Anna. Reading that made me so sad. Not that you know me or anything or would even let me in (lol), but after reading that I would totally come over and help if I lived close.I agree with you about having support. My hubby grew up in a whole different culture (although we are both from Afghanistan, I grew up here) and he is like yous hubby. Although he has gotten waayyyyy better since being here away from his family influences. After Eman was born, it took a good year to two years for him to step up and give me the help I needed. Oye, and don't get me started on when he gets sick. Every cold, flu, stomach bug is potentially life threatening to him. I am super sarcastic and joke with him and say: "oh, don't worry honey. Remember, you have life insurance so we will be taken care of"....

The hospital I had my babies at by c-section told me to expect that I would get a brief glimpse of the babies and then they would take them back to my room because it was so much warmer there. That is why hubby stayed in my room. He figured he would get to see them more there and he hates seeing medical procedures. They forgot to get my mom until I was opened up. My mom thought that was cool. Crazy.

Anna. I wanna reach out and hug ya! I am with ya 100% on less support. Sofyan was SUPER husband when i was pregnant with Zaid. He still is doing the things I want physically, but this time around, there is no emotional support. When im sick he says "whats new" when I ask him to slow down at the mall bc I feel like the baby is coming out of me he moans and groans. This pregnancy has been alot harder on me but he really doesnt get it. ive given up and we have decided we are done at 2 kids. We got our boy and girl, im happy. Life is too expensive here. We wont be having any surgical procedures done to prevent pregnancy but we wont be trying for anymore. Who knows, maybe when both kids are in school full time I will change my mind, but for now, Im just too excited for life to begin with my kids. Vacations, outings, etc. life is going to be real complicated with a 3 year old and an infant. I am looking forward to having a baby around again but I will miss my independance and im sure Zaid will miss his mommy and daddys undivided attention :(

ugh wow Anna &Kelly. I do definitely think my hubby is less involved in the pregnancy thing this time but not like that... I didn't have any big physical problems though. He does help out a lot now with Ben when he is home and I have to get up at 4:30 or do a night shift.

It took him a while to understand that now that I work full time and being pregnant I can't be 100% responsible for childcare for Ben anymore and that he needs to adjust his schedule and compromise or I can't work. He is doing a lot better now! He even came home early when I was called in for a night shift on my day off so I could go to work!

I had to sit down with him a few times and tell him exactly what I need and what I think both of our roles were housework/childcare &jobwise and he understood.

Now I still have to get him to understand that I can't give birth on friday and be back to work on monday, which seems to be his understanding apparently... I am not eligible for FMLA so he figures I should just go right back to work since we have such a great babysitter.. :bonk:

We don't have much family around either.. His parents live 3 hours away but we have some friends who would try to help out if their scheudles allow. So far if things have gotten really bad we always somehow managed to keep going.

Hubbie was a lot better prior to school... He helped out a lot, watched and played with Jona, cleaned up, and so on... But ever since school... I do understand that he works and has school, but I helped out a lot (I have already completed my MA and helped with his papers, his assignments since many of those things are things I did regularly for my MA). He's not old fashioned that way that he thinks women = kids and housework, but he has gotten a little lazy here... I just cannot do that much - my body reached its limits! And that is the part he doesn't get, just cause I'm not moaning in pain all day long doesn't mean my condition isn't serious. I just have to take care of a toddler, I have to suck it up, cause Jona needs a parent to spend time with him, dress him, feed him, bathe him and so on... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I need compassion from my hubbie.

I have a hard time saying things directly or making demands... Whenever I do say something though it comes out to demanding in his opinion... But I think I'm rather un-demanding and low maintainance (I don't expect presents and don't get any, I do expect however good communication and such)... My dad would always take care of us when we were sick as kids and even now if I mention oh my back hurts my dad is like what can I do to make it better? I expect the same from hubbie. A quick back massage isn't hard to do and doesn't cost money. Carrying the laundry basket upstairs without me asking to do it would be nice... Those kind of things I need, and I have to say them out loud and spell them out every single day, and I guess I want hubbie to offer help and compassion to me without begging for it...

@ Kelly: I have heard the exact same words.... "what's new"... Then he said oh I didn't mean it like that, and he is a lot like that, he never thinks about what he says and then is surprised if people get upset by his comments (it's not just me, MIL has a beef with that too)... I just wish I could trade bodies with him for one day to make him feel the pain cause he'd be whining like a little baby!!! I also cannot walk fast and he takes off at Wallyland or the mall and I'm like heyyyy I cannot waddle this fast, why can't he remember?! I too think I might be open for a third child under certain conditions, like the two older ones have to be out of diapers and in preschool, and hubbie has to be supportive.... One thing I am looking forward to after military life is the possibility of talking about those issues with a family counselor or pastor, someone to give us both a different perspective and help us communicate better, which we cannot do right now as he works with nuclear missiles and doing any sort of counseling gets you kicked off the job immediately (I personally think that's a bad idea, lots of guys are hanging out here with nuclear missiles who clearly have issues not taken care of!!!!)....

Thanks so much for your comments and virtual hugs - feels really good! At least I'm not imagining things...

On a happy note...I started washing all Salmas things today :) I really went waaaay too overboard, but hey, whats new! lol. I picked out her "coming home" outfit and picked out the biggest daisy headband to go with it lol.

Hubby went up in the attic yesterday and pulled down the bassinet, bathtub, infant carseat, and bouncer. My sister returned my 3 in 1 pack n play, activity mat, swing, and boppy, so I think were pretty much set. Im gonna wait another week or two and sterilize everything that cant be washed and then she will be here anyday after!! Crazy!

I think she may have flipped head down yesterday. Im not sure but I feel hiccups right in my ####### and my ribs which I assumed was her head banging down there and her feet up top? Who knows. guess we will see Thursday! Im super excited to have another US bc I havent seen her since 26 weeks when we rechecked for the cysts.

p.s. I started weekly visits at like 31 weeks bc my previous pregnancy induced hypertension. Im SO grateful ive made it 34 weeks without doing one 24 hr urinalysis. By this point with Zaid I had already done like 4.
