YES...mee mee...and I was totally with Susan LOL. Even my husband agreed :D .

@Anja: The night nursings are what went last with my kids. Allie was totally off the ####### during the day but at night she always wanted to nurse. I always found it easier to daywean, before the nightweaning. I don't know about the 'missing a meal'. I guess when he's hungry, he's hungry right? Maybe a paci works for him or dad to calm him down at night if you don't want to nurse? I have usually given in and just nursed cause it is - like you said - easier and less hassle than carrying a crying infant for 30 minutes :).

Sleeping patterns, however, change all the time. Next week he might only wake up once for a few days and then again five times in one night. I remember those days, sleeping on the couch with a baby in your arm, still sucking :P , the loss of a sense of time when you get up every 30 or 60 minutes. Oh well...while I'm sad I'm not nursing anymore, I sure don't miss those days.

Eveline - you are right, if he's hungry, he's hungry :) but my feeling is that he's not hungry but got used to get to nursed back to sleep every time he wakes up. I love nursing him though lol, so i'm guilty of making a habit of this too. but oh well.. i'm waiting for him to change his sleeping pattern on his own now coz it just feel too good nursing (minus the lack of sleep) and also it's easier to do it real quick so I can get back to sleep faster.

lol - I'll try to enjoy these days (actually i admit, I missed the midnight feeding when Sam slept 10 hrs straight) coz I know i'll probably miss it and he's probably grow out of it soon.

I havent had time to watch TV :crying:

I'm with Susan too, of course. ;) That baby on Desperate Housewives also looks awfully young on top of it!!! I wouldn't want to babysit her either, I couldn't do cry it out, especially not to an infant...

Jona actually nightweaned before he dayweaned... But that was largely hubbie's work. When Jona was 13 or 14 months (pregnesia, pardon me) we started to stretch out the feedings at night in when he woke up in between hubbie would go to him and soothe him (rocking, hushing, rubbing his back). Once the feedings were at 4h apart he started to sleep through the night actually. He wakes up occasionally once or twice, but he just needs to hear a soothing word and have his blanket tucked in, all good. I don't mind the getting up once or twice a night once a week, if at all. Soon enough he'll move into a twin bed... But not yet, I'll milk the situation for as long as I can. He likes his crib and it sits really low, no way he can climb out of there! We won't need the crib until Eloise outgrows the cosleeper, so we have some time left! :)

@ Kelly: How did it go? Sorry you are sick! Try to rest and take vitamins, drink teas and such... The liquids should help. My cold is nearly gone, yeah! I'm not getting the flu shot, I wouldn't when not pregnant and not now either. It's up to everyone to weigh the pros and cons, but my midwives don't even offer it, I could go to base if I wanted it. But nay. We did get hubbie a single dose mercury free one (he has to get one, military) instead of the Flumist which has the potential of shedding... When I called around in town at the obgyn's offices to ask for one, they freaked out when they heared that the base wanted to give him the mist for the shedding risk (cause even if I get the shot, it might not work!). Funny how the military claims it's no biggie and the obgyns freak out. Oh well we ended up getting his at the health department.

Does anyone of you belong to MOPS (moms of preschoolers international)? I think I'm going to give it a try. It will be nice extra socialization for Jona. Winter stinks - we have been sick and couldn't see our playgroup, now the other kids all have croup (no thanks, not again!) so it's down all the time. Winter stinks so bad, everyone is sick all the time, you can't take your sick kid anywhere and playgroups are full of snotty noses. Yikes!

I got the multivitamins out and the Vitamin D too. I'm giving the kids small doses every day and take myself one too. Other than that I'm trying to have everybody play outside as much as we can. Winter is short, summers are long (8 months...OMG...ridiculous). My mom said that there's a lot going on cause every weekend we're at another festival. Well...there hasn't been anything going on all summer long, it was just too hot.

My friend has two kids the same age as my kids's age and they are sick ALL THE TIME and it's not just the common cold...it's croup, the flu, hand food mouth, strep etc...Her little girl is at the hospital right now with a major antibiotics reaction (it's called Stephens Johnson syndrom and has a high death rate). I saw pictures of her little body and OMG she looked like she got burned badly. Apparently only 3% of all people who take that ABX (I think it's sulfa or so) get a reaction and it's the people with a low immune system. I mean...they are sick so much, even I'm worried about them.

TEAM BLUE has a new member !

U/S tech said 90% sure its a boy at 16 wk 3 day anatomical U/S yesterday. Wonder why they don't just say 100% as the boy parts were obvious!

w00t yay Marm!!!

I have pretty much the exact same U/S position wise when I was preggo w Nick, hehehe.

Dunno why they don't say 'for sure' when it's a boy...it's not like you can't see a lil willy there.

And YAY KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! w00t!

@Marm: While I feel that is CLEARLY an indication that you are having a little boy, I have known of 2 people (friend of friends and whatnot) where the docs said it was a boy and on the day of the birth they got a big surprise. I think they try to cover their behinds by not saying it with 100% certainty.

ETA: even though I was told I was having a boy, I still bought items that were gender neutral.

It's not the best shot, but surely looks like a boy. It's a tad early to say for sure, but a 20-22 week anatomy scan will be able to tell you. At 16 weeks the tech thought Jona was a boy, but didn't want to say 100%, but at 22 weeks we could tell big time. The doc said that's not gonna fall off...

As a comparison, here is my girl's sure shot. It looks clearly different, three lines, the doc called it the "hamburger bun", Jona's shot was waaaayyy different. And I don't see the three girlie lines in your u/s pic....

OMG...Anna, I can't see anything on that photo :). Is it taken from the side?

Both my kid's was clearly visible. Adam was 17 weeks in utero when we found out and Allie 22 weeks. There wasn't even a 'it's not 100% clear" because even I could tell without them telling us.

I didn't see it at first, but the red circle shows it... It looks like a butterfly, the girlie parts. Jona looked very different, and once my sister sent me a couple sample u/s pics from girls, it was clear to me :D

My 16 week scan looks almost identical to MARM's...the u/s tech said 'it's a boy....but if you buy anything, keep the receipts just to be sure'. At my 20 week scan, u/s tech said 'you can throw out your receipts if you want'

Anyways, here's some sarcastic baby humor...

Oh, and one more thing...I found it interesting on DH with the Lynette/Susan thing. Whatever side you sit on, what I found most interesting is the fact that while Susan might have disagreed with it, she didn't kick up a fuss (no pun intended) for the baby's sake...she did so cos she 'can't handle any more crying'...then it was all about MJ crying, and missing Mike, etc. Furthermore, she really had no right to go against Lynette like that. She's Lynette's nanny, not a co-parent, and whether we agree or not, Lynette was attempting to 'train' her baby or what have you, and Susan just sh!t all over that. I'd have been furious.

Saying that, I wouldn't be able to handle hearing the baby cry, but I'm a new mom, so wth do I know? hahahaha
