Did they keep your passport? If so, then you just need to submit proof that all former marriages were terminated (in this case by divorce) and when they receive proof, they will put the visa into your passport, then mail you back the passport plus a large yellow envelope that you are not to open but to give to the immigration official at the border when you enter the US. I have heard that the Vancouver Consulate sometimes asks to see previous marriage certificates as well. I've no idea why, but if she has asked for that too, then I would submit both the documents to them.

You won't need a letter - the passport with your K-1 visa and the envelope are your proof of approval.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Why can you not get a copy of your previous marriage certificate? Which country did the previous marriage take place in?

If it is unavailable for some legal reason, you need to present evidence of that.
