If I understand this correctly:

The only advantage I see in emailing in the Choice of Agent (in lieu of form DS-3032), is that it save 1 or 2 mailings, but not anything on time.

Since the DS-3032 and the AOS Bill are generated at the same time from NVC, I figured that I would be mailing those back to NVC at the same time anyway.

Am I missing something, or does the emailing of choice of agent only save a small extra step (maybe a few bucks) for mailing the DS-3032 to the foreign spouse, and/or the foreign spouse mailing it back to the USC?

I don't see a time savings at all from the email method...?

There are two different "tracks" of the process through the NVC. One starts with the AOS bill, the other starts with the DS-3032. The AOS Bill gets sent to St. Louis, whereas the DS-3032 gets sent to New Hampshire, so you can't send them together. Also, there are fewer steps to the AOS Bill track, so it makes sense to get the DS-3032 info sent in ASAP. You can check recent timelines (look at some signatures of people who've been approved) to see how long it took from the time the NVC generated the DS-3032 until the beneficiary received it. It took about 3 weeks in my case, and I'm in Canada.

It's up to you. Good luck! :)

I concur with girl 37 :thumbs:

It can save you weeks by emailing the choice of agent in order to get that path of the process rolling sooner.

as beneficiary has to send choice of agent form so depending on the country it can take a while to get it to NVC. Emailing can save lots of time

Emailing DS 3032 will save you at least a week or two. NVC does not mail out the forms on the same day it generates that form. DS 3032 will prompt NVC to generate the IV Bill, whereas AOS Fee Bill will prompt NVC to generate the I-864 packet. NVC has two tracks which are independent of each other. Finally, NVC reviews everything and completes the case, if no RFE is required.

Track #1: AOS Fee Bill ----> I-864

Track # 2: DS 3032 (Choice of Agent) ----> IV Fee Bill ----> DS 230 packet

Please check the NVC flowchart which can be found at the NVC Forum. I strongly recommend you to take care of the Choice of agent issus through email. The email has to be sent by the beneficiary and it has to be sent only after NVC generates the DS 3032 form. Another note, NVC generates DS 3032 and AOS Fee Bill on the same day. You don't need to do any shortcut to send the AOS fee Bill, as you can see it is a part of the shorter track. But by taking care of Choice of agent by email, you are saving time on track # 2, a longer track.
