Damn it. I was going to buy her one on our last trip there and forgot! Sometimes I could just shoot myself in the eye! They aslo have the yellow warning signs with the "Y" which is the first letter in the word "student", for student drivers.

If you find a place to get them here - post it up. Love to have one!

This reminds me of another You-will-never-see-this-in-America moment. A commercial in Ukraine for Kotex Maxi pads (or similar product) in which a woman driver is pulled over by a policeman and immediately goes to screaming and yelling at him. The poor cop can't do much but say "what is wrong with you ma'am?" With that she reaches into her shopping bag and begins to pelt the officer with packages of Kotex maxi-pads and screaming "THIS is what's wrong me!!!!!!"

Don't you love European commercials?

Yes. They also had some racy TV (actually, really racy) on late night in Ukraine. And it was sponsored by VANISH! Toilet bowl cleaner! Most of the films were American softcore for which they added a Russian voice-over. Moaning and groaning in two languages!

I also liked their political debates much better. Ours are SOOOOOOOOO boring.

:ot2: Gave Vika flowers after V-day just to be a contrarian. The reaction was every bit as pleasant and strong as any other time. Her joy at seeing me come into the room with flowers never seems to dim. I cannot stress the importance of the flowers

I actually went out of town for V-Day. I left flowers, chocolates, a bottle of wine and some balloons in a nice little "I'll be thinking about you when I'm gone" display on our kitchen table. Not sure how far it went, but I haven't gotten yelled at since I've been back so we'll call that a success!

Sean Connery in the "Finding Forrester" movie..."The secret to making women happy...an unexpected gift at an unexpected time."

FSU women do love flowers...and the quality in the US is typically much better, making them even happier. My wife dislikes roses as they don't last long...so I get seasonal flower arrangements instead.
