Something smells fishy - to be told someone else got your work permit, and now you have to reapply? That's not how it works - It sounds like someone is messing with your head. I would make an infopass appointment ASAP

I tried making an infopass appointment at the Omaha service center and it said no appointments are available. Can you believe that?

I'll try calling the actual service center tomorrow and see if they can help me over the phone. That would save a long trip to the service center.

When I called USCIS customer service today they said something about a "UPS mailing incident" does anyone know what that was?

Try to make an infopass appointment online, here's the link - https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php. Its easier. I made infopass appointments online in the past, 'cause I also missed my interview. I got my greencard recently. It was a positive ending... Hope you will get your interview soon..

Come to think of it, we did the same with infopass. Vika's green card was delayed because the person approving didn't push the button to order card production. Weeks went by, and we used infopass to figure it all out.

I would be making an infopass ASAP and find out what's going on with your case.....

This is the best answer here. Go in person.......... You can probably get and appt. within 36 hrs. if your schedule is flexible to a point where you will take the 1st. available appt. If I was you I would be doing it now . It can be done online... Go for it and Good luck to you...Your situation SUCKS...But I'm sure an infopass appt. can fix that ASAP..!! Let us know how it pans out for you if you decide to take this route.............
