Wow, we have all sorts of historical Ute stuff in the western part of Colorado. Chief Ouray and his wife Chipetta were prominant leaders of the Utes. A river, the Gunnison, is named after an Army explorer that met with Ouray way back about 200 years ago or so.

Ouray is the main town on the Ute res.

Hills? In Illinois? David couldn't believe how flat it is here and made fun of me when I pointed out Elkhart Hill when we drove by going to Springfield and heck that was about an hour away to drive just to see a slight elevation in land. It's a bump in the ground but hey it's all we got. :P

I'm with you brother Dean. Southern Illinois is a wonderful place.

On the topic, this is what I was talking about in the other thread. The states should be doing health care. If Ionescu's friend was living here there would be no problem with their kids health care. If the goal is to insure everyone then each state can come up with a plan that fits the needs of that state. There would even be competition between states to offer the best health care to encourage business's to come there. This is the way to go, don't scrap the way we do things now - just fill the gaps so everyone gets taken care of.

What about the lack of efficiency? There's got to be a standard to ensure that not more than a set percentage of expenditures go towards red-tape - so that the money actually goes towards care. That would be the way to bring the cost of our system under control. I'm tired of paying for all this nonsense bureaucracy the private sector has built.
