Hello everyone i was new to this sight for a while , since being here i have enjoyed the topics and the pics. i have also talked to a nice lady also shes a filipino but with the way the world is today i just dont see the risk involved going there nor bringing her either i dont have the time for it as work come first in my life and it makes no since to make her feel uncomfortable while im not able to help and guide her so im going to break this off after almost 2 yrs of talking and even planning on going there but i do feel its best instead of getting her here and not having time to be with her.

i wish everyone here a happy life but i think i will choose to be as i am now since im 45 already and work rules my life so thiis is the best descision for me with the dangers of flying and travvel in general.

thanks to everyone and take care.

journey on.

Good luck to you. It is always wise to follow both your head and your heart working together. If you have doubts now about a relationship then it is better to end it rather than continue and have to end it later when things are more complicated. May you be happy in whatever direction your life takes.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Sounds like you made the best decision for yourself at this time, however:

1) driving is more dangerous than flying

2) I am 46 and a workaholic but:

3) I met a wonderful girl in Vietnam and fell in love

4) Managed to take time away from my work addiction and visit her in Jan 09

5) Fell more in love (madly in love, crazy in love, in love, in love, in love)

6) So much in love that I visited 4 times last year (Jan, Apr, Sep, Dec)

7) I realized that there is more to life than work and wow, how happy it is to be with someone who loves and appreciates you

8) filed K-1 in June

9) Interview in Dec

10) Now together in the US (Jan 16 2010)

Now I am so busy still but I will always make time for us to be together and enjoy life together. Each day when I get home and see her there it is the happiest moment in my life all over again. Every day, day after day and it will be for the rest of our life together.

And I've gained a wonderful family, a wonderful new cultural experience, found acceptance with another people. Its awesome and my home away from home.

Lifes too short my friend. I respect your decision and am sure at this time maybe it is the best for you. But if you ever change your mind and wish to make the "journey", come back and join the family here again.

Take Care and Best Wishes

Thanks bernie i understand your words and thoughts and i guess your same age as me i by the way live in va, this isnt easy for me to do as i know this is going to be heart breaking for this person as we have been talking for nearly 2 yrs she works as a maid in singapore but is filipino and i know its nice there but it just seems when i try to plan things work always gets in the way and rules my life and always has guess im one of those kind of people who never takes there vac even i do have 5 weeks but still i never use them for hardly anything. maybe i will still talk to her or maybe i just live the rest of my life as i am now . its a big thing to bring a stranger in this county these days and be able to gude her thru until she gets used to things and im just not sure i wil ever have time for this in my life.

thanks very much
