California is an agriculture state that moonlights as an information technology state. One of the fastest growing industries in California is the service industry. Where do you think California gets its labor force, if not from "outside" the state?

California is actually large enough for a single payer government system to work. However, they would also need to start constructing government owned and operated hospitals in order to control costs.

also has a larger population than australia ...

If cost containment means curtailing emergency room visits by the uninsured, how would manage to curtail such a cost with respect to a person legal status? Turn them away from emergency rooms?

That is the whole point. They should not be there in the first place. The reality is that it's Californians like yourself are suffering because of them and your quality of life has been impacted and reduced. Adding healthcare to the mix will only make it worse for you.

Trying attending a government school abroad in a first world country and you will be asked to provide a range of ID. No free lunch for foreign aliens there, hence their world recognized first world status.

Do you prefer a high standard of living (including education and health care) or do you prefer to take care of Mexico's poor? Since that's where the majority of illegal aliens come from.

They already get health care at my expense. If their health care was through a single payer system, it would probably be cheaper, but it definitely isn't going to cost more.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

They don't get healthcare, they receive emergency treatment; something I disagree with too and believe we should bill their country of citizenship for. You also realize that by covering them, this sends out the message to another 300 million plus that all you need to do is get to California and Steve and Cleo will cover you.

I 100% agree in setting up a system covering Californian citizens and those here lawfully. There is zero economic sense in covering millions of illegal aliens, with more to come once they hear they will be treated, at the cost of the Californian tax payer.

And just when I was thinking about moving to CA for a year, before I move to Aus, the legislators pull this. I would leave with nothing, as they would tax me to death for being privileged or something like that.

Might have to consider Portland or Washington state, with Len and Marc.

It's just a theory BY, nothing more.

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with it BY. It's how it is, particularly if you do not want to see people dying in the streets, which no matter how deserving some folks think that would be for people who can't prove their legal status (and that's not just illegals by the way), I do not wish to see it, or deal with that thanks all the same.

Show me tangible evidence that supports that?
