I pay a lot but it doesn't approach half unless you mistakenly count the deferred tax retirement contributions as tax

Right. She's probably counting 401(K) contribution, as well as healthcare premium (which is not a tax, it's actually a pre-tax deduction), possibly life-insurance premium, Long term disability, etc.

If I look at my absolute gross and my net deposit to the bank, it's vaguely in the range of half. But I pay myself 12% of my gross into my 401K every month, plus all that other stuff.

Refer to Greenspan views, just above. To wit:

Steve is quite right. The economic effects of people living in this country: producing, consuming, being gainfully occupied - matters not a whit if they are here under legal or illegal status.

That is not to condone illegal immigration. I abhor it and think the laws should be fully enforced. It makes a mockery of the law when it is widely ignored and broached.

I am in favor of immigration reform, and of larger immigration quotas that reflect the reality of the pressures of those who want to enter the country, and the benefit we achieve when our economy grows more strongly through immigration.

Well said. I'd also like to see work visas for low-skilled laborers that are easily accessible to employers who demonstrate a need to fill positions.

as long as unemployment is over 6% any employer who claims to 'demonstrate' they cant find low-skilled people in the us should be bitchslapped

The legal status of immigrants has no bearing on the data and why would it?

There was data presented in that article?

srsly if theres no chart porn theres no data

Agreed. What are those funny squiggly characters like 12.6 and 48 anyway?

It's not so in the U.S., which is expected to grow from roughly 308 million to 439 million in 2050. The nation's Hispanic population alone will soar to 133 million, from 48 million, according to Census Bureau estimates. The number of non-Hispanic whites, now 201 million, is expected to increase only slightly over that period.

The biggest reason: The latest Census data show that the foreign-born — 12.6 percent of the population — account for 20 percent of all recent births, according to an analysis by Kenneth Johnson, senior demographer at the University of New Hampshire's Carsey Institute.

Do you have anything to actually back the assumption that they are "producing, consuming, being gainfully occupied" up? Or just personal opinion? The multitude of people I have spoken with who work directly in the education system in my county, openly state that the majority of students receiving free lunch are Hispanic. Obliviously they are not allowed to check their status, so tax payers like myself must pay for child after child, regardless of status. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if they are on free lunch, that means their parents are unable to afford the $2 required for lunch. Yet you sit here and have the nerve to suggest that they are functional and productive tax payers. No sir, they are not. The reality is the majority of them are uneducated and low skilled, therefore, will rely heavily on the American tax payer.

Go to any walmart in a predominately Hispanic area and I guarantee that you will see mothers with two to four kids. Who do you think pays for these kids, let alone their birth? It certainly isn't the fathers $6 per hour job. I won't bother sourcing or listing the immigration policies and stances of other first world countries, as you seem to have a knack for only listening to yourself and others like you.

Much like Cortes is going to be in favor of any policy that prompts the immigration of South Americans over every other nationality, you entered the country as an anchor baby, therefore, naturally you are going to be in favor of any policy that allows this to continue. Not to mention, have other personal reasons to support South America dominating US immigration. Just saying...

2 to 4 kids? Dude try 4 to 6. You see 2-4 kids in even the nicest white suburban malls.

Now that you mention it, I'm certain he is a terrist.

He will probably be terristing my terrace any time now!

Ah, the conspiracy is all making sense to me now.

Ban the heathen Arabic numerals!!

If we act quickly, I figure that within perhaps VIII or IX years we can convert all our digital systems to a numerical system inspired in the Western world.

If we beat the YIIK problem back in MCMXCIX, we can beat the terrorist numbering plot of MMX !!

Not really actually. Educated white folks have better things to do than pop kid after kid out. Then again, at least we can afford to have these children.

It's great for folks to talk out of their azz and assume that Hoze is paying for his three kids with his random $6 an hour jobs, when in reality it's the American taxpayer like myself who is funding these kids; all at the expense of American kids living in poverty might I add. Look at California, where illegal aliens have had a disastrous impact on their education system. Now ranked almost last in the union.
