Doctor Who geeks: Anyone going to Gallifrey 2010 in LA?

We usually go, well hubby usually works the con but they moved it a week later this year.. right onto our original anniversary. Last year was my first convention and was a blast working in guest relations (getting to swoon over Kai and Gareth from torchwood was nice too). Bummer is hubby's evil ex-gf works the office, we'd already planned spending the weekend at Disneyland or I'd be having so much fun tormenti.. I mean saying hello to her (I'm not evil I swear).

Anyway have fun, most there are really nice and the artist pannel is always good to go look at

Well, the pointer on the map shows it to be here. When I was a kid, the sign over the Egyptian-style entrance used to scare the bejeebus out of me -- it says "THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED." I was convinced that this could happen at any moment, and the dead would walk the 2 miles from the cemetery to my house and get me.

On a side note, the cemetery is just across the street from the sciencey bit of Yale -- the engineering building is across the street, the chem, bio and physics labs are up the road on Science Hill. I assume it's one of the engineering dudes.

Yikes, I would have been awaiting that fate, too. My kid logic was definitely in the "Of course they'll come straight for me and no one else because I'm scared" category.

I love the old cemeteries. I grew up in Massachusetts, so that graveyard looks familiar!

I love New England cemeteries with their gravestones with skeletons dancing on them.

If anyone wants a good cemetery in SoCal I do recommend the Hollywood Forever cemetery - worth a visit for the tacky gloriousness of the Johnny Ramone gravestone alone
