I've sent myself and my fiance an e-mail to be read in the future, using this site: http://www.futureme.org

I thought that it would be incredibly nice to get to some point in the future and get to read a desperate message from the past-me, or read about the plans I had made for the future and that will have become true by then. And then cry and laugh a little - the past me and the future me.

Just an idea. I found it to be a source of encouragement for me :)

That is great!! I will start doing that...hmm, what a great idea. Maybe I will send them over a period of time.

THANK YOU!

It is nice, isn't it? And you can't retrieve the e-mail - so, no cheating! :)

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Not to mention the ones who have been waiting like forever?! He's just a couple months in - not even close to the ones who have been waiting for 6 months a year.... longer. Buck up pumpkin and don't you dare tell your fiance you can't wait... she'll flip her lid. It will happen - if YOU want it bad enough. Good Luck.

Hi Everyone,

I have officially lost all hope. I really, really, really, REEEAAALLLY, thought that I would be getting my NOA2 sometime this week. Tomorrow is Friday and I haven't received a thing. I've contacted both senators (filled out the authorization form when sending letter the first time) and haven't heard anything from them. I contacted my rep. in congress and haven't heard from her either. I've contacted UCSIC to get the same "call back in 30 days" bull.

I've seen people with NOA1s of April and May, but yet I who have an NOA1 of March 10 get nothing. I know, I know, I should get this depressed, but every night when I speak with my fianceé it just seems like she is farther and farther away. Our relationship has grown as have we and yet it seems we are prisoners to this process and our relationship cannot progress.

I am seriously on the verge of just simply giving up. Lord knows what I will do if I am denied. Most likely I will just give up. At one point or another we must admit that we are doing ourselves more harm than good by staying in this sort of relationship. Obviously every bone in my body tells me that breaking up is just simply not an option, but I don't know how long that can last. 2 years, 3 years, 4???

Maybe I will cheer up once the processing times change, but even then it will only mean that I have to wait until the processing date reaches 30 days after I got my NOA1. :crying::(

Hi Astro-

Oh man--I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL-I REALLY DO!

Until yesterday I was just about to tear my hair out watching all the approvals and nothing for me. Weird mixture of happy for the people with NOA 2's and sad for me all at the same time because the missing and the lack of action at the CSC was driving me nuts!

Every day there was the same date on the portfolio page. It was the same thing-log on-look at the date-no change :( Yet I still did it at least 6 times a day....

-Heck I even called someone on here a troll! ooooops! I apologized afterwards-but this whole process really pushs the limits sometimes! With all the mixed up rumours/stories/statements you do not know who/what to believe.....

As Fox said there is no reason you will be disaproved if you supplied the right documents and fee-the consulate interview is more often than not the clincher! So please rest alittle easier on that concern. :)

I know it seems easy for me to say this-but please believe I am sincere-It will come through!!!

Do not give up!

Hang on in there!

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I agree with William33. I've had passing thoughts of calling it all off because of extreme frustration with this waiting game but I know in my heart of hearts that I would NEVER leave my husband just because of this process. I think he's just frustrated, worried, anxious and desperate for this to be over. Just like most of us here.

People - give the guy a break. Clearly he is just as Mrs. Z said - frustrated, worried, anxious, just like we all are. Telling him to toughen up or that other people have been waiting longer than him does not help one bit. When I originally inquired with my first senator's office, the very mean woman told me that many people get stuck in security checks for a year and that I should feel lucky that this was not my case. Guess what? That didn't help. Just pissed me off since other people in security checks has no bearing on my case (or my feelings) whatsoever.

Astro, it's not normal for a senator's office to not respond after 30 days. I would immediately call to follow up aon the paperwork you sent and get the name of the caseworker assigned so you can leave a voicemail and make a direct inquiry. You are past the 120 day mark and are well within your right to request assistance - but it sounds like you will have to call and push a bit so good luck.

Your frustration is noted. I'm stamped with receipt date of March 21st and I am waiting for NOA2. I watch these Vermont people getting fast approvals and others in California with all the luck. I am extremely happy for them, but very jealous.

Try to imagine getting a text message at 2:30am saying, ”I'm going to the hospital,” from your four month pregnant finance who is trapped in a country and cannot leave because USCIS is undergoing reconstruction.

Would you ignore the text message and give up? Remember, she is depending on you.

what does lost hope mean? your gonna turn your back on your sweet heart? this process is just beginning for you. if your gonna give up now whats gonna happen later on in this process when you have a much bigger wait. postings like this always bring me down. because, there are people waiting a long and harsh time apart. my case 1 1/2 years from my husband. I know people waiting longer than that. Dude he has been waiting 2 years. and cindi she was waiting 4 years. so maybe you should realize you wont be like us.. your day is comming any day now. hang in there focus on something else.. learn a new hobby

You dayum right, babybunny! :star:

I'm not sure if this will make you feel better or worse. My NOA1 was July 13th 2005. I have now going over 1 year before NOA2.

I finally recieved confirmation by email that the app was actually being processed July 1st 2006. That's right my application has been floating around without being looked at for almost a year.

Attempts to use my congressperson did nothing to make them move.

What I've discovered through this wait is that it takes a huge amount of patience to deal with an agency that moves at it's own pace and isn't accountable to anyone it seems, least of all those who pay for it.

I've also discovered we are committed to the relationship and will do anything to stay together.

So keep waiting, someday your turn will come.

7-6-2005 Sent paperwork to CSC

7-13-2005 NOA-1

12-27-2005 Called about out of process

1-3-2006 Response sent

2-3-2006 Called because response never made it, started out of process again

4-5-2006 Called again because nothing has happened got the response "nothing has changed"

4-11-2006 Emailed CSC

4-12-2006 Emailed Congressman

4-13-2006 Got response from CSC stating that the file has been requested for processing (Hopefull yeah!)

6-30-2006 Exchange email with CSC--file is being processed contact again in 30 days

7-30-2006 CSC no longer accepts email

8-21-2006 NOA-2 Fantastic!

9-8-2006 NVC supposedly sends to Embassy

10-4-2006 Embassy doesn't have paperwork yet?

10-11-2006 Interview set for 10-25-2006

Keep in mind Military Personal "over there" newly married, newborns happening, away from entire family on deployment, worried if they'll come home safe, from ALL family members both sides here and there. Keep strong and put your mind on something else. Time is all we have NEVER think of giving up... if you do... you never really loved her anyway. :hehe: Stay Healthy and Happy

Oh Shi@!!!!! One year since NOA-1? Damn, you are the poster child of this site.

You are the most deserving case of an NOA-2, if I have ever seen one...

Good luck for an immediate approval. You most assuredly deserve it!!!!

Sorry I've been busy with a new job and have been unable to post. Whatever you do, don't even think about giving up. I have resigned myself to the fact that this is going to be a long drawn out process. I don't like it, but it is a sad reality. When I started this process, I thought that Yang bo would be with me for the xmas holidays. Obviously I will be please if it happens, but I just feel that March or April is more realistic. Hang in there! This forum affords you a great support mechanism. We are all going through the same thing.

Take care

Come on. You love her, don't give up! This sucks, but it will pass, and then you'll be together. It will be worth it!

In the meantime, have a drink, relax, and think of how much fun the wedding will be.
