Hey guys....

Have any of you tried to postpone an interview date ? Maybe it'll be better in my case as it will take a while until I have some of the really important documents with me...or should I just go ahead, have the interview and let them wait to issue my visa ?

Thanks for now

I've seen cases of people who have rescheduled their interviews in Rio. You can do that... I think you're referring to the tax returns? Do you have the other pieces of evidence they ask for? I've also seen cases of people who were allowed to send them documents after the interview and have had no problems.

In any case, if you think this will make you too nervous and umcomfortable, maybe it would be a better idea to e-mail/call them and ask for another date.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Hi Mew... yes... I have everything else... this is the last piece missing...and there is some confusion going on that may delay the delivery of it here for me...

So I am not sure if either I go, have the interview and send the document missing later or if I postpone it.. sigh

You can have your transcripts faxed to you by calling the IRS.

Are you waiting for a copy of did you file late?

She's the beneficiary. She's waiting for her fiance to get the tax returns and send them to her.

Hey,

I didnt have my Ppassport so I informed the embassy 15 days before the interview. My i129f approval was also expiring after 2 weeks of my interview. So the embassy issued me new date and approval stands extended automatically. Also before the second interview is due, submit all the documents at the embassy assigned offices, like we have in India(I do not know about your country, if there is any). Wish you luck in your interview.

We did reschedule our interview back in April and had no problems. The reason we did was I wanted to be able to attend the interview (and visit Rio). I just sent the Consulate an e-mail with a range of dates and they rescheduled. Good luck at your interview

Lisz,

In order to get your interview date didn't you have to sign and submit a statement saying that you had all your documents and were ready for the interview?

That aside, consulates are often accomodating with requests to postpone - they usually have other applicants anxious to take the open slot.

Thanks everybody

We decided to don't postpone the interview and just go ahead with or without it... of course we are still working on getting it... because it has been more difficult than we thought...IRS has not his tax transcript there for some reason...and he did file...

Did he file eletronically? Maybe with H&R? You can use those copies as well, as far as I know. Hopefully, because those are the ones I intend to use.

My fiance told me that he's used those before to prove income. And I read on a thread about it, some time ago. But we can post something here too to make sure.
