.... Or get into the lucrative revolving door of being a paid lobbyist... government worker... paid lobbyist...government worker... paid lobbyist... government worker....

Those fellas make a nice living, so I'm told.

(I do agree with you William. The system,as imperfect as it is, is preferable to alternatives. That doesn't mean it can't be improved. A lot.).

Ah... lobbyist's..another story indeed..... I dislike the lot of them.....Dirty scum from he11....Anyone serving in this capacity should be hung....

I'm a big supporter of term limits on Senators. I think the house of representatives should be converted into randomly selected public assembly (by means of sortician), where citizens representing all walks of life serve as legislators (chosen in a manner similar to jury duty). This would add a more direct check on the federal government by non-elite citizens.

Spooky,

As a general rule, senior leaders are chosen for their wisdom and maturity and experience. These are traits that frequently go hand in hand with a septuagenarian visage, not with baby faces. Congress and SCOTUS are not a beauty pageant, this is not a Hollywood premiere night.

Having said that - fresh and innovative ideas are most certainly welcome and needed in Washington. I think we got some of that with our current President, aged 48.

leaders? i'd say stubborn old goats is what they are.... all of them! leaders find a way to resolve issues. now, you probably want to say that the repubs won't cooperate... please don't, both sides are stubborn.

Life..... Nobody gets out alive.
