Booyah, I was gonna respond to you right now, but it seems SMR took the words out of my mouth re: the Democrat majority Congress.

Hey, I'm all for improvements to the gov't but when a candidate promises transparency and flat out doesn't do it, when he promises this that and the other and doesn't do it, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that no matter what he says....no matter how 'feel good' it is, it's all hot air and no substance.

Nearly forgot about the $800 billion we owe China. That is, on top of their government's $2.4 trillion USD cash reserves.

China's government could offload their US currency an destroy the US economy, yet we still have people trumping on about less and smaller government. It's also interesting that we had no problem borrowing money to pay for two wars. That is different of course.

60 votes are needed to pass a bill if there is a filibuster. Pre-Scott Brown, there were 60 Senators caucusing with the Democrats. That is the entire year of 2009. In your opinion, what progress did the government make for the American people in 2009? Even if you agree with the stimulus, it isn't really progress but rather maintenance.

See this is why even as a staunch conservative, I would never vote for republicans, even if I could. You guys are hypocrites. On one hand you berate them for not thinking through a bill and rushing it through. Now you mock them for not being able to pass it through. I watched the republican response yesterday and couldn't help but laugh as it was dripping with moronic, cliche driven, flag-waving hypocrisy.

Am I missing something here, or does it seem stupid that Repubs stay put when Obama proposes things they have been tossing (foaming at the mouth) over for years?

Or is this how politics plays out in the US? Where once the opposing party is in control, you just berate and ignore everything they say and do. Even when they propose what you proposed.

Sounds more like children than a united first world country.

You're playing the blame game again. Republicans said this or that. When you have a super-majority in both houses and the presidency, blaming the other party gets kind of old. Who cares what the Republicans said or did or threatened or asked? The Democrats had the votes to ignore them.

If you want to see a good response, look up Ron Paul's state of the union address on Youtube. He actually explains the state of the union instead of waving the party flag. It's admittedly a lot more boring than Obama or the Republican response.
