Automatic Case-Status Updates from uscis.gov

I have a general question about creating an account at USCIS.gov for the purposes of receiving automatic case status updates.

The following link provides information about creating an account:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/ProcTimes.do

If I create an account at the following link to get automatic case status updates, would I still be able to get letters in the postal(snail) mail from USCIS about the case progress and/or any requests for further documentation.

Has anyone used this feature before? May be you can shed some light on it.

Thank you.

You will surely receive hard copies in your mailbox still.

And oh... don't rely so much on online case updates. It's not always updated.

I am sorry but I don't see it is updated at all.You guys said you can see some updates, but when I go to USCIS site to check my pending case, I don't see anything at all.Only when it is written when they got our I-129F form.
