Hey guys,

I read the LINGCHE NVC shortcut--SUPER HELPFUL!!!!

Thanks to those who passed along the link.

OK am beginning to calculate financial stuff and after reading this, then looking at the USCIS website I have a few questions.

1. The AOS fee is $70 USD??

2. The IV fee is $355 USD?

3. There is a fingerprinting fee? Does this differ at each embassy? Is it $85 USD?

Waiting patiently for NOA2!!!

MUCHISIMA GRACIAS!

Hi Emmamama,

So glad you're able to get a lot of info from those guides - I've found them super helpful in breaking things down :)

From what I understand, you're right, the AOS fee is $70, but I believe the IV fee is $400. I'm not sure how the cost of fingerprinting changes by region and country, but I believe for me in Canada, it will be about $45 (I haven't done this step yet, so I am far from positive!). Another cost to factor in is the cost of the medical, which I'm sure is different in different countries as well. I'm going to have mine done in Vancouver when the time comes, and for me it will be $330! And then of course there's the cost for all the different passport-type photos for different packages, etc....it's endless!

Not exactly a cheap proposition is it?! :) I hope you are getting the answers you need. Good luck!

Kristi

WOW! So expensive...then you have to add in the translation costs, etc. Apart from this, we live in a country where 1 dollar is equal to four pesos. (3.87) So, $100usd would be $387! YIKES!!

Thanks for helping me out!

Just a quick note. If the applicant is a Canadian residing in Canada fingerprints are not required with your police certificate unless you have a criminal record. They do take fingerprints at the interview, for which there is no charge. There may be different requirements for other countries though.

Good luck.
