Fox is the most trusted television news network in the country, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.

You tap your shoes together three times and make a wish.

I see. I don't see the point of these types of polls. There are no 'trustworthy' news outlets. All news is biased in some way and the only way to get a balanced opinion is to access several counterpointing outlets.

Anyone who's had to do a research paper, you would think would understand the importance of critical reading from several different sources. Single source authority appears to be much more appealing.

How do you 'trust' a news outlet?

take your pick

trust defined

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I truly wish everyone was able to grasp this simple concept.

That's your college education sensibilities talking. Stop being an elitist and stoop down to the level of willful ignorance.

People who 'put their trust in' one news outlet are idiots. No one should put their trust into a single outlet, but rather read widely and analyze. Also, if Fox news editors believe that their viewers see their service as 'trustworthy' they will get lazy in their output. It's a lose lose for fox watchers.

Along the same lines...

While I don't think you are linking level of education to the issue in this thread, I just want to say that there isn't a clear link.

I find it bizarre that even those with considerable education are unable to understand what Madame Cleo said. One thing is for sure, you can't get a degree in common sense.
