The cool thing about the Kindle is that is uses a technology where it prints the text or image on the screen and turns itself off...therefore, reducing power consumption. The texts stays on the screen for a very long time without ever turning on the Kindle itself.

It could - just use google voice on it's wifi connection. (you can access google voice via the browser now)

I guess you can't use google voice - no USB port...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I think there is a place for it. But probably not for everyone. I don't use a smart phone very much simply due to the screen size. Its too small to do anything more than read short messages.

That said, i do think it has a couple of issues, no flash support (yet anyway) and not really any multitasking. Although I don't think it needs multitasking like a PC, but possibly the ability to switch easily between a couple of opened apps.
