So my significant other entered the united states as a visitor. Nothing special. But while he was here he proposed and didn't leave. I'm trying to fill out paper work so he can be here legally (yay), but it keeps asking for his visa number and type...does he have one? I don't remember getting any information like that at the border.

thanks for the help

Canadians are provide "visa free" entry (so no visa number).... his type of entry though would have been as a "tourist"

Unless you applied before or he is here on a visitor visa he won't have any type of visa number. If it was just a drive thru the border then thats all. Look thru the GUIDES at the top of the page, and that should get you started
