Has anyone who has been to Montreal taken pics of the Consulate and the surrounding area???

i thought having a visual would be nice!!

02/05/2010 Interview in Montreal..APPROVED..with a few tears at the end!!

I saw people trying to snap some shots of the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and as soon as the camera was seen the guards started approaching with a really nasty look on their faces, and considering the VN guards are carrying nasty looking weapons, they put their cameras away immediatley!!!!!!!!! I did manage to sneak a shot or two from accross the street when it was very busy! Was anyone "official" aware you were taking photo's? Just wondering if the sense of security is different in different parts of the world?

We didn't even see security guards until they opened the door for us in the morning. Was a fairly relaxed area.

Very easy o walk by the consulate and not realize you passed it!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Wow 3 hours for lunch and then done at 3:30 p.m. each day. I want a job at a consulate. Thanks for bringing up the pictures. Never been to Montreal before and I am looking forward to a day soon when I can join my fiance' going down this street to getting his visa!

Where do u get the "3 hrs for lunch"from? I have relatives that are Foreign Service workers that have worked around the world--never in Canada,and they sure never got 3 hr lunches,lol
